Just curious is all. Installed Java 8 to experiment with some programs and apps not DSO related and want to know if Java 8 is going to make browser play not work correctly.
(No, I do not use thin client so suggesting it to me to use is a waste of time for anyone who may suggest it.)

Your browser maybe, but not your Windows XP ;)

Always use x32 - browser related, not OS.

Hmmmmm, my apologies but no issue has been solved. I dont know what Mikem is talking about, I dont know which of the files he mentions are installed (and I shouldnt know).
All I know is that game was working fine and since I installed the latest version of Java I cant play the game (without thin client). I cleaned Java cache and the DSO client, bla bla bla, nothing.
I dont wanna mess with my laptop on things I am not aware of just to play a game. You have changed something, why should I spend 3-4 hours of my life, as I did already, to find a solution?

In short ... that means ... you maybe are running x64bit windows OS but you are running 32 bit Browser. Install 32bit Java version.

Thx for trying to be helpful mate, the facts are:

I am indeed running a 64-bit windows OS
I am running the latest recommended Java version 7 update 65, which is indicated as the 32-bit one. I cant play game since I installed this 5 days ago.
I tried with both Chrome and Firefox and Java stops running few seconds after I click "start". No error messages no nothing, just stops.

I just dont wanna start messing things up and most importantly I dont know if there are gonna be consequences in other programs when I start doing so.

We have been notified from the team that the Java version 7.65 (and likely the latest version of Java 8) is not compatible with Drakensang Online for many people. Unfortunately, the issue appears to be on Java's side, so you have a couple of options to circumvent the newest Java releases:
    1. Download and install and play directly through the Thin Client. Note that you will need to have an account created directly through DSO or Facebook in order to sign in through the client. http://www.drakensang.com/community/download
    2. Your other option will be to uninstall the latest version of Java (7.65 or 8.11) and reinstall an older version.
Again we apologize for the inconvenience and hopefully one of these solutions will be appropriate for you.

To play Drakensang Online, you need to get the latest Java plugin for your browserthe game will not allow you to run an old version i have tried

    Thank you for reply,
I do access the game with the thin client, no problems there, but thin client is so laggy, only for daily login and probably some easy farming, no group, no intense fights.
What Fatcat mentioned is true for me too, it has happened numerous times before a Java update, DSO wont let me play the game unless I update to the latest version, either in Chrome or Firefox. For historical reasons, I am telling you that this started to happen around 1 or 1,5 year ago....after that huge exploit Java had.

So my only option is to wait for the problem to resolve eventually, I do have a complaint though. As you can see the thread was opened on Wednesday, why did it take you 4 full days for an official answer? You would have saved me, and many others I presume, from so many wasted hours of troubleshooting .....especially the technical problem threads should have more attention.

    Thx again
