The use of the word 'random' is used very loosely during this event. A monster drop is not actually 'random' as it is not advertised as random, it's well known that uniques have a low % to drop and greens inherently have a high % to drop. But, when it comes to labelling the pinatas in the event as 'random' it's incredibly misleading for players.

By clicking on a Pinata you receive a weighted drop NOT a 'random' item. I can confirm from 100+ Truncheons at Gnob that the dye sphere has a 90% drop rate. I feel my sample size is big enough to be used as conclusive. (Also chatted with others gambling in town).

For those hoping to net themselves something big from Zumpe, don't get your hopes up. Chances are the 2 gilded clover 100x Gold / 1 gilded clover Legendary is probably 90%..

For those who want to enjoy the anniversary I would strongly advise sticking to only trying to get the costume or mount.

Good luck players of Dracania and Happy 5th Anniversary!

  3. @EvelynJ Ok. Let me see if I have got the gist of your argument right: you are complaining that the drops in the event aren't really random because some items have got a higher/lower drop-rate vs others. Is that correct? Alrighty....
    1) Show me anything in life which is random, and I will show you a gap in your knowledge. Because that's what "random" is - essentially it is "ignorance". If you knew all the variables (wind speed, thermals, air pressure, etc), you could predict exactly where on the ground a speck of meteoric dust would hit. Or where and when a piece of floating driftwood in the middle of the Pacific Ocean would beach.
    2) The probability of that speck of dust hitting Point A vs Point B (given you know the start point for it) will be different. But it's still near enough to "random" if you can't predict the outcome. Ditto the beaching site for the driftwood. Sure, the prevailing West wind and ocean currents may make it more likely that it will beach in Arica, Chile vs Santa Monica, California. But, if you didn't know that + the other impacting variables, it would seem to be completely random to you.
    3) If what you are really complaining about is that basic items have got a greater chance of dropping vs rare/expensive/coveted items: yes. Yes, they do. Just as rare/legendary items have got a lower chance of dropping from monsters/bosses vs blue/EO items. That hardly makes it "unfair" or non-"random". Gamble at the Jester tables and you'll find that the chances of getting an emote or one of the special Jester gems is much lower than that of you getting blue ess or a splintered gem. Same thing.
