I was searching the information about the bow drops from this cyclic events (The event New Moon and Full Moon) on the wiki, and i found this:
    [IMG][IMG]
It is about the damage. Longbows are damage oriented and shortbows are speed oriented, but why this karabossa shortbow give much more damage than the longbow?

Even if the karabossa damage enchantment is minimum (+33 damage), the damage is still the same compared to the longbow. I assume the other enchantment as equal (+crit dmg / +chv, both about critical) (+hp / +resist, both about defenive attribute) (the crit damage is a little bit inferior than the major boost of chv, though, imo)

I think that Vargulf longbow is underpowered compared to the shortbow. Or, is it that the Karabossa shortbow is overpowered? The shortbow damage enchantment is too high, imo. Is it because of the speed enchantment that makes it looks equal?. I need some more thoughts about this.

Am I comparing it wrong? If so, tell me, what is the better approach?

I am in the position of "having an induction that the game maker supports shortbows more than longbows" now, even taking the area where longbows should be better. No wonder longbows cant be seen on the game.

The biggest thing you are forgetting is that the Long Bow is part of a set. Add in the set bonuses, and it helps make the Long Bow a bit better. Also, consider that the short bow's damage can actually range from 80-120 up to 113-153. Also, don't dismiss the power of the 15%-30% crit damage (especially when paired up with the rest of the set for an extra 20%-25% crit damage). Also, which would you want, 100-200 HP or 11-111 cold resist? In the end, it is all about which is more useful for the individual. If you wanted to see the differences it would make for you, you could always check out http://dsopage.bplaced.net/ or http://drakensang.optimizer.free.fr/Test/ and check out hypothetical differences the set vs the bow on it's own would make.
