Knowledge question - probably asked too many times

I'm relatively new to the game (about 45 days) and have been having a great time doing quests, but I notice a severe lacking in knowledge gaining.

I tried searching the forum for various threads about how to build the knowledge tree but what I read and what I see in the game doesn't exactly add up.

I've got 3 characters ranging from lvl 40 to my newest lvl 22.

I can begin a new character and reach lvl 20 in a day, yet it takes 60+ days to get the ability to ride a mount?

The farming for knowledge and cot's seems to be a major issue as far as time is concerned.

I've seen quite a few low level with mounts (even epic mounts) and have to wonder how they are doing it. I guess some create a new character and just do the daily 250 until they reach a mount lvl before playing, but it seems odd to me that so many would do so.

I've not done PVP so I don't know if that is the way they are getting knowledge so fast or not.

So far I am happy with the game with the exception of the knowledge tree. It's sad that I can gain mounts and cloaks during an event, yet have to wait another month or longer to use them.

In the mean time I am forced to buy storage space to keep items that I can't use and can't sell.

If there is an easier way I would love to know the secret because the waiting is kind of frustrating, especially when I am watching a lvl 4 riding around on a dragon.

Hate to disappoint you but there's no secret, we've all been there, waiting for our horsie and stuff. The only "trick" that can help you a bit is a mentor bonus, you get that one on your lower (knowledge) lvl chars, and it gives you 200% books (so, 750 from a daily quest).. Hang in there, don't skip daily quests for books and you'll be fine.
