Legendary Treasure Chest

I opened one too a little while ago, just because I wanted to know that I opened at least one of each kind of chest (focusing on the purple one from now on). Got 3 Universal Potions, a couple crappy gems and a useless legendary. But hey, got about 600 red essences... so, yeah.

 

I went ahead and used my lock picks to open chests ... and as expected ... I got nadda ... The better chest had like 180 reds, a fractured amy and a couple of whites as well as coins ... in my opinion, lock picks are a waste of my stash space ...

 

Just use them to get essences. Other than that, yeah... lockpicks are pretty much useless, as they most probably won't give you an item you'd keep & use.

 

What kinda chest did you open? How many lp did you use to open it?

 

He said it "had like 180 reds", I'm assuming he meant Essence, therefore methinks he opened a Legendary Chest (100 keys).

 

That would be my thinking as well....but 180 reds in a leg chest? That's unheard of....and common items? I have never got a common item in a leg chest.

I continue to farm lock picks daily and continue to stash them knowing when level cap increases it will be an avenue to obtain several level 50 items. To get the keepers, you have to open a lot of leg's and any method of getting them that you decide to pass up is a detriment and time delay to get what you need. Leg chests, regardless of what comes out of them, give you more than you had before you opened them and getting the LP to open them is a byproduct of farming you already do. Missing the chance to get them is unwise.

 

Yeah, but getting 100 LP is terribly mundane. I only ever managed to stash up 100 once in my entire play-time, and another 50 or so besides that. I'll still open any Shabby Chests I find and collect any LP that might drop, but I'm not going to make that a target. As you said, it's more of a byproduct of what one's already doing.

 

The shabby chests are giving fewer lock picks to me. First some of them were empty, then more of them gave coppers and items for traders and melt.
I would prefer more lockpicks for the legendary chests' essence and loot. Maybe the values work out to be the same in both scenarios, but getting red essence up front is very useful and satisfying.

 

My drop rate goes up and down in swings of a few days enough to be noticeable. But, overall stays in the 5-6% rate. Still not sure why lock picks don't drop from mobs.

 

Yeah; they should reconsider and expand the drop sources for some items, such as the LP. For example, I'd kill for an increase in Knowledge drops (make it always 5, or at least 3, not 1). However, I did observe Ander dropping more often these last few days. Knowledge too, but with 1 per drop... it's almost insignificant.

 

i farm constantly when not in the arena opened loads of chests got jackpot once ,some legendary items good and some bad i just see it as a bonus with farming

 

I hate legendary chests.
Smugly sitting there with all that hidden promise.
Only to open for a large amount of keys.
Reveling in Revealing disappointment.
Legendary chests are mean.

I like extraordinary chests.
Un-intrusively sitting there with a moderate reward.
Hoping you will spend your keys more wisely.
Revealing better essence and gem deals.
Extraordinary chests are sensible.

 

If DSO ever have a separate section for anthology of poems, yours regarding chests would get top page.
