Macrocheira

i just got the Macrocheira bow, and im wondering if i should unlock it , its 40 lvl and im almost 42 , it has only 1 enchantment whereas a extra ordinary bow has 3 . is it worth it to unlock it ?

I guess if you have a really high crit chance this could be worth it since that is some serious extra damage on crit hits. Other than that it's base stats are the same as a white lvl 40 longbow. I have a level 41 RG with good crit (2.7K, 62% chance at level) and I would pass on this one and melt it.

But I would also add that my strong class is DK so you might want to wait until some hardcore ranger types weigh in on this thread.

i have critical hit rate 845
and critical damage 220%

 

So (just a rough guess) that means you are going to land a crit hit 1 out of 4 times, on average. On those hits It's going to give you an extra 80% damage (the enchant on the bow + what you already have.) The other 3 hits it will be just a longbow. Again this is just a rough guess of the averages.

It's would not be worth equipping at this time in my opinion. But it you happen to get lucky and get something like Gorga's quiver and some other items to boost you crit chance it may be worth hanging on to if you have the space.

Keep in mind that it is a longbow making it's basic attack speed 0.83 landing high dmg blow with it in pvp is not very likely how ever if you are pvp this could be useful against bosses (mostly those that are stuck in place xD) anyways i agree with mikeymetro that this bow is not rly worth equipping.

 

i also agree that its not worth it, and its only 1 gold selling price (cheap). thats why i melt it ,
