No smooth gameplay (devs just peek)

well its time i need to say. long long time i have issues playing this game. but i managed to push my nerves out and still farm. i cant say this is playing, cause of constant eg. if i run so fast ahead and monsters appear to sights my char is pulled back bit. and sometimes more.

it happens in every map.. and that takes my nerves and makes me curse , if i say it how i get insta ban DDDDDD

second thing what drives me mad. this game is one of the frist game what i cant play with full graphic what game gives. i disabled all of that jiberishh. but no luck for smooth game play. i can play m3 and call of duty ghost with almost full graphic and it is soooo enyoyable. but this drakensang, omg. im like running 3 pc dvd games + video on background. you understand what i mean ? what gameplay i have. this is because drakensang eats my computer memory. i dont get WHY.

deleted java cahce temp files. draken temp files uninstalled game. restarted pc. installed again. tryed with browser. tryd with client. at first its okei. but in 30 mints. it goes again like that. cant play anymore. i dont want to play anymore just for that reason. i have my gears. and seen where this game goes. but nomore. go without me. im sick of this constant lagg.. btw actualy this game takes space 5gb. go run all maps and propthies on temp folder. and you see DDDDDDDD hell with that.

if i could just lower more game graphic, i would be so glad.

i have 4gb ram. and all other unwanted programs are CLOSED!!!! dont come and say install new windows or flash. rub this idea to a EDIT and push it into your EDIT.

i just want that game devs see what issue is biggest in this game. smooth gameplay- there is none. have nice day

 

You can add 10Gb of RAM to Commodore 64 and still unable to play the game.

 

Paavel, the issue is likely on your side. For me the game runs perfectly at max settings unless there is an issue on my side. Like lag, which makes you bounce back when your upload is crammed, download is rarely the problem.
On a side note, 'lag' is a collective name for symptoms of improper communication between client and server or inadequate processing power of either.
If you are certain that your computer can handle the game at max settings and other players from your server can play DSO smoothly, you eliminated inadequate processing power from your side and inadequate processing power from the server's side. Also, if other players from the server can play normally, the server has no communication issues, which means that you are dealing with a communication issue from your side. EZPZ

 

at first memory usage was 300k now its 500k. still playable. but it goes to 1 million. ?????????????? what the hell this game doing to my computer.. after that game is unbearable to play.

spiro. i was not talked about internet connection. thats not even close what i said on first post. i can copy too what means internet from wiki and post it on forum.

i can look answers to fix comp from google too, no problem. but this game eats my comp. and i dont have any ideas why and how. i look ram limiter or something. that it would limit usage of res for this game.

i increased page file to 10 gigs and reduced memory what win can use. from 4 gigs to 2. i let you know if that worked.

1. The game is running normally. When I play in stretched window the game uses even more resources at my PC than at your laptop, yet again I have no lags.

2. You was not talking about connection speed but you should consider it as prime issue to resolve. From your screens I have seen that you are having 1Mps connection speed which is too low now days. However, even that should be no problem. Your problem is using laptop. I suppose (with probability of 99.9%) that you are using wireless connection. You are not having connection speed issues in the distance between the ISP and your router, you are having issues in the communication between the router and your laptop. When your laptop is communicating with the router every time there are data packets that laptop is receiving with errors (CRC error). Thus the connection between the router and your laptop is getting even slower. Because of preventing further data errors the router is decreasing the speed of transferring data to laptop. Consider this as I am speaking to you fast and you are unable to understand me ... so I have to reduce my talking speed so you can understand me.
First try to change the working channel to your router, because there may be other devices near that are working at same frequency. Cordless phones, speakers, CRT monitors and other devices may cause problems and interfere with your wireless connection.
If you have an LAN network card on your laptop, try connecting your laptop through cable and see if there are differences.
I have installed wireless network card at my PC just to prevent messy cables going around. Yet it was giving me only lag and problems. Now I have disabled the wireless card and running through cable. Now there are no lags or any other issues.

3. You have enough memory, you don't need to increase the size of the paging files. Switch it back at default state as it gives you no problems. Paging files are working differently than RAM and it is not of your concern if you are asking me, because it is used by OS. (it is very long topic to discuss it here)

 

Another thing. Your ping may look good at the moment, but if you have an instant where your ping spikes and it does not occure during your ping test, you could experience sudden and unexpected lags. My ISP sucks so I have moments where my ping will spike to over 1000ms making the game unplayable for a couple of seconds. I capture this by having my command prompt up in a second window so I can ALT-TAB to it and hit ENTER for "ping -t agathon.drakensang.com" the moment I start seeing lag and let it run until my ping times drop back to normal.

And I agree with Trakilaki that your page file is not your problem. It is only really used when you exceed your memory and a lower priority program gets everything it is storing in the RAM put into the paging file until it is needed again. Seeing as you are not going over your 5 gigs of RAM, it is not your issue.

I have big lag all the time but do have perfect ping and jitter. thinking of changing the game to.

 

"Perfect" ping can be deceiving. I just had one of my ping spikes again. The image below is for my computer actually going to Agathon's server. You can see nice normal pings before and after approximately 10 seconds of high ping times. I have actually had worse and seen over 2000ms in these ping spikes. If I did the ping test from pingtest.net, and I didn't manage to do it exactly when one of those ping spikes occured, then I would never have known there was a problem. That is why "ping -t agathon.drakensang.com" is a far superior way of diagnosing the issue.

 

Paavelson... it just may be what has happened to me. I used to be able to sign in and play the game. After a time (months), the game play became stunted, with character names showing , but not the avatars. Then, progressively, I started to get hit by phantom creatures -- ones I could not see on the screen. Finally, a short time after signing in, I was getting kicked from the game. Well, after uninstalling, re-installing the game; after clearing all cache of all programs suggested in the forums, it has become apparent to me it is INDEED all the "upgrades" imposed by BigPoint. My proof? Well, I had to get my computer repaired. During that time, i borrowed another one, with more graphics and memory and voila -- access and no issues. I got my old computer back and immediately I cold not get in passed the sign in and choosing a character to play.

BP -- ARE YOU LISTENING -- it is your progressive updates to the game that has pushed me -- and I bet a lot more players -- from the game. YOU don't want to admit it, but that's my proof. I could play this game 6 months ago, but can no longer access it following R118... very simple math.

Fun to play, but now I cannot and my proof is clear as stated. Therefore, your problems may stem from BP's upgrades -- something pushing you further from enjoying the game.

I guess so, but I am not going to keep upgrading a computer every 6 months for reasons such as this. It makes no sense and quite frankly, it is not practical from a business standpoint. You will chase away customers if their wallet -- and patience -- cannot keep up with the advancements. No sir, I hear what you're saying but it does not make sense.

Well you can't blame game companies for rapid advancement of the hardware and technology. CPU speeds double each year (even though Moore's law said it double every 18 months) which means that one average PC bought today will be outdated in two years. Software developers and companies are keeping in touch with this exponential hardware growth, so every year applications are getting more and more demanding.

i have a dual core 2,6GHz , 4 GB ram , and a GT520 , and the game runs very bad , i play without shadows , but still the gameplay is very EDIT
The graphics are not that "beautiful" , so you woldnt need sucha great computer to run this , but the problem probably is the game engine that is eating a lot of resourses , all for a game with mediocre graphics ...

 

yep. forum trolls. ping. internet problem is my least last problem. but this memory and graphix eating game. just not suitable to my computer anymore.. but i can play call of duty ghosts wtih no problem what the EDIT is this ? DDDDDDDD some sort of sorcery

morderme. i wont install win 7 again my comp specs are up there.

maybe reason is over heating but my comp is norm.
