We're all none therefore I don't really understand why some users are being this harsh. It's not like your opinion matters more than mine or someone else's.

Anyway, I do understand why many of you are upset, but I'll tell you a secret: Time and Money spent on this game, on everything, are wasted no matter what:D
Being serious, imho as @trakilaki said, most probably it ain't going to happen, first because of all hardcore dso-addicted that are already raging (or should I say "crying"? Since everytime someone complains he/she's just "crying") and also because they said many things during the past streams and they rarely became true.

Anyway, my biggest concern about PvP is it to be balanced. When it is balanced, they can do whatever they like.

What i dont understand is why so many people are against this.A lot of you guys who are against this complain(ed) about the game being pay2win in multiple ocassions and now when pvp wont be pay2win anymore u guys hate it? Imo this shouldve happened a long time ago.
PvP should be a game of skill and not items and gems imo.

How can some of u guys ask for/expect a fair balance but not be ok with losing the huge advantage that the gear and items that u have gives u in a fight?

We ask balance for characters with similar stats (all gold, maxrunes ) between classes....now this has not been case and 1h dk has been OP against any other class. That is what we want to be balanced(let's see after 209). This game has roots in RPG and char development and gear development.

If someone enters pvp with crap gear. He/She should get his ass kicked back to farming better gear

Hmm i guess thats a way of putting it.

I thought we were talking about fixing the PvP entirely which also included the huge gap between p2w and p2p and not only class vs class with similar stats xD

Still cant bellieve that so many are against BP's decision to remove the p2w from PvP though...The way i see it, items, gems, crafting, glyphs, and so on should not make the difference in PvP, or if they do, the difference should be insignificant.I prefer it to be more player/skill oriented and not gear oriented. Its my opinion, dont want to offend anyone.

So PVP is only for top equiped players?

Everyone has the right of a good balanced match. A recruit has nothing to do in 1 match with a fieldmarshall (I know, the rank isn´t so important now, but it´s a hint, who is longer in this game to build up the character).
And as you know, to find the right gear including the ingrediens to craft is a big part of luck in this game - like the "luckbench" itself.

Only to say: "...go farm" is senseless. Do you think it´s funny as a lvl 49 char, till now all is working good - PvE and PVP, to became LvL 50 only to see, others are using this char to clean the bottom? Yeah, he can go farm to get better gear - on fatal, till he is 55. Miles away from T6, the base of "high end" in the moment.

So let me say the next 6 month (to get good gear with crafting and so on) he should avoid arena? Only to see, the others are still cleaning the bottom with him?

    Let me guess....he should farm?

"Let me guess....he should farm? " Yes that's what I've done basically after each lvl increase :). I welcome changes to pvp if they create diversity on builds and all classes have fair chance to build toon to play pvp. Like stated by others also, reason I've bothered to play this game for last months has been building the pvp gear.

I started to play this game because it was a) diablo like isometric view b) rpg(one plays to get better gear and stronger char).

Getting stronger toon then awarded me a better success in pve and pve. If they remove the rpg part from pvp(for me game is 50% of pvp and 50%pve). It leaves me 0 reason to play pve also since my pve stuff is done at this point(farming wisdom is side job it's not going to be the reason why I would bother to play pve).

I am sorry for all frustrated people who live this game as a work and not enjoy it. I always payed for deluxe membership, my character has got almost everything at the top, i crafted 2-3 times every item, i farm for pvp since i started this game cause i like pvp. However i am very happy of these changes! Because it will be balanced!

We know nothing. Maybe they'll introduce PvP specific gear like in  so that Glyphs and Gems will still matter.

Depends how skills will be changed for PvP :D

No it is not, more or less you play with a player with the same skill.
Most of the players don't even have a strategy, i never was a Top-Tier player yet i have a decent duel score
    [IMG]

Most of the players i have encountered are whiny guys that they want a fight without moving, or using the pvp rules to their advantage.

The problem is not only the pvp imbalance but the lack of strategies from the players.

You can't play the same against a Dwarf and a Mage, each character needs a different strategy and approach.

And most people whine about one K.O Hits, RUN and try NOT to get hit, thats what i do.

1h dks tend to run like girls, I am yet to meet one that I cant kill, even though the opposite happened to me vs a 1h mage called steelfox2000.
And I only have 22k damage..
My secret against 1h dks is bleed and q4 with it crafted at 2/2, they all die.
So this strategy can be implimented by all classes.
Example rangers have bleed too, from blade dance
Mages has chain lightning going for them which also has dot effect, the advantage that ranged classes has over me is that they dont have to run after those damn wussies to kill them

The one hit K.O. is not only boring, but when you're unable to one-hit them back, its lame as hell. My ranger dies to 1 fireball instantly vs. many mages, and hitting those things when they can toss out as many as they want is super easy. If i want to be in range to land an explosive arrow that doesn't even kill them most of the time, is a huge pain. This game has the worst PVP I've ever seen in any game of this size.

First, didnt watch the whole stream... The constant stuttering, err, ummm, umm, umm, .. drove me crazy... Got a bit of advise for you Jesse, Write a script, and do a fewpractice runs (Its called rehearsal) ... But if what everyone heard them say about gearless pvp is true........o_Oo_Oo_O:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Gear-less pvp: No!... Just NO!
I personally dont care for the DSO pvp because of the extreme unbalanced nature of it. As I have said before in other posts, I spent 20 years playing FPS and 3rd person shooters on PC. Played thousands of death match rounds and countless hours at network parties doing CTF etc etc... So, Its not that I DONT HAVE SKILLS like "some" try to suggest that ALL those that dont care about pvp in DSO suffer from. Not suggesting im great, but was ok, and enjoyed the competitive nature of a good death match. Back then, All toons were exactly the same, with access to same weapons... Skill, knowledge of map and EXP where your biggest advantages.

So lets put aside how we feel about this and analyze it dispassionately ... For true balance in PVP to happen, It should come down to skill, knowledge of character attributes and character skills. If you enter into the equation tiered, glyphed, gemmed and rune'd gear then you throw balance out the door...
You could use a handicapping system, that basically puts all participants at same lvl of DPS, and Defense... or basically render all the Grand Marshall's gear worthless so the Centurion can have a fighting chance against a comparatively Over Powered opponent. Even the MOST SKILLED players wouldnt have a snowballs chance in hell of winning that match.

So then whats is the answer??? only making matches between players with closely matched character and pvp lvls as well as gear lvl and types/number of gems /runes??
Yeah, only if you want to wait for 10 hours for a match (if one can even be found then) not the answer...

Or, BP's answer... take gear, glyphs, gems and runes out of the equation ... Basically.. Handicapping... which once again will render all that hard fought for and crafted gear useless...

The one good answer, and the one I have always believed in, even tho it want my idea in the first place, is to balance PvP THROUGH the pvp skill tree... Use the PvP skill tree To over come super high hp, or chain stuns, or spamming of OP Set Bonuses... etc etc...

I believe it is a colossal mistake to separate pve and pvp on the gear side... or any side... BALANCE PVP WITH THE PVP SKILL TREE, This is to me is a no-brainer win for all players.. PvP, PvE, and the BP Bean counters. You accomplish your main goal without completely changing a portion of the game that has absolutely nothing to do with that said goal.

    Thanks, Doc.

Well they need to heal catching up to em is a lot of work if they just stood still things would go a lot faster. Luckily there's bleed

Exactly! Dear devs, rebalance PvP by adjusting the honor tree only. We do not need "kit pvp" or whatever you meant by that "gear and lvl will not matter" and "pvp roles".

    What we need, in abstract:
    1. End of OHKO all around in PvP. One charge, jump, EA, PS, fireball, gun shot = dead. We don't want it. That is what would make PvP require skills.
    2. No immortality either - that's why simple HP increase for everyone wouldn't do. We need a deeper balancing, perhaps through honor system.
    3. Fair balance of classes, so that no class can be supreme over others. Class, not rank or anything. Again, this should be done by simply adjusting the honor tree.
    4. Split the cap level from the others, so that a lvl55 can only be matched with other lvl55, and keep the rest as it is.
    5. Increase the exp gains from PvP, in order to stop the twinks once and for all.

If you just take into account these 5 points I am making (and I believe many others will suport me), I am sure that you will be able to work out a good PvP balance, that will make PvP fun again and that will make players truly happy.

    Yes!

All numbers on abilities can be tweaked for PVP, similar to stun durations already.

Remove healing from battle rage, nothing else.

Make PVP experience 10 times higher, and twinks will be more or less gone.

Those 3 changes should be fine to make decent PVP :)
