Question about Cloak of Power

How do you suppose a level 12 player enters Eternal Grove to do level 12 Cloak quest?
The entry requirement is level 17.
Shouldn't you be asking a level 12 player to do something in Hagastove Grotto or Tombs instead?

 

You know, I was actually just wondering the same thing. It's really kind of poor planning.

 

That is because you are missing the whole purpose of that quest.
1. That quest is available for all players when reaching level 11.
2. The purpose of the quest is to make you play and gain EXP so you rise levels ... and not staying low level like those stinky twinks.
3. When you solve that quest you are not getting level 11 cloak ... not even level 17 cloak (like you mention the Eternal Grove level requirement) ... but you get level 23 cloak!

What would you like to get ... level 23 item for level 11 character?
It is simple ... play and gain EXP ... and solve those quests on your way up. At level 40+ you will forget about them ... because you will only need level 40+ Cloak of Power.

 

I am sorry Traki, but you are wrong in this case.
You get a level 12 Cloak.
I am not talking about my self. I am pointing out a bug in the game.
My character who wanted to do this quest was level 18 and did complete the quest just fine.
But, I want to point out this bug in the game so that the developers may correct it in the future.

 

There is a bug? Man you should say so
I will check in one of my toons if that cloak is level 12 or level 23 ...

There is no bug. The cloaks are at set levels.

 

The age old saying "Pics or it didn't happen" is applicable here. If there is a change, do more than "Whaaaa, this changed and you need to take my word for it." Take a screen shot.

 

I guess there was some sort of unannounced change. Hate when stuff like that happens, right? That's just ridiculous.

Sort of sad that it takes the guy saying that you are wrong to prove you right. Next time do the leg work yourself. I agree that it is stupid that you get a LVL 12 item when you need to be LVL 17 to even get the last parts, but like Trakilaki said, it is sort of irreverent because it will be melted shortly (hours or days) after you get it.

 

Think about what you are saying. If we go along the lines of what you are saying, there is no point getting low level items, sooner or later you will be level 50. So, make all items level 50 and don't worry about any low level items. They are not really needed.

 

No, I'm saying that getting a LVL 12 item at LVL 17 that you will use for a matter of days or less is insignificant in the bigger picture. Anyone would gladly take an item that would give free 14 armor and 30 HP (doesn't matter if the item is LVL 10, 15, or 20), but the next cloak comes fast enough that the only reason that you get the first cloak is to get the next one. Further, even though the item's level has been lowered, it has gained 30 HP and, in my opinion, it is better than the old one. If the item were LVL 17 or 23 like could make sense, but had the same stats, then it would cost more to upgrade.

To sum it up there is no reason to complain about this. The only thing unusual is the level.
