Hey, welcome I have just won my 1000 battle... that's compared to 18312 defeats. Round after round against the same overbuffed monkeys... months and years wasted on a faulty PvP balance system and still nothing but silence from the dev team.

    Congrats on the 1000 battles!!!

About PvP balancing forget it, it will never happen...coz the dev team needs to maintain the heavy P2P class happy or they will stop paying.

If you really want to have a chance in winning, then i suggest that you start a new toon and keep it at low lvl and only play PvP with him and since the new toon will benefit from mentor bonus, you will reach lvl 40 fame before you reach lvl 20 xp tree.

Use your lvl 45 to farm for AM and spend them on your low lvl, he will become very strong in no time...is it fair to the others??? no its not, but its the only viable option that we have today!!!

Actually its not that bad after all.
Yes, often U see insane battles from pics, but U know what? Thats not all battles.

In all the time i have played, i have mostly played PvE. Just recently i started on PvP again to get the lv 40 fame skill.
Its just not that bad. As long as you have a nice char, you should reasily be able to get some wins.
And this is not some P2W who don´t understand F2P, i haven´t paid anything more than 25 euros on gems.
I started as a YKotO, i where able to get 100k honer in one weekend by playing 5vs5 as a runner.

The balance is not that bad, yes you can get a unimaginable unfair battle, but its quickly finished, get on to the next one!

And about starting a new char and play PvP against newbies, forget it. Now there is so many twinks with millions of glyphs that you won´t stand a chance. Its even worse at the low lv´s now, even if you are a twink yourself.

And if its still too anoying, start playing with some guildmates! You can be a team of KotO´s and still win against a full team of flagbears if you play it right with your friends.

The thing you really should hate and fear at PvP, is the whining, bad losers who blames everyone of being noobs! :p

Screenshot or it didn't happen. xD
But I guess it's possible. From 20 matches in 6vs6 I was in the defending team 17 times.
3 times I could attack. Nice balance.

This may make some mad... but oh well.
PvP will never be balanced because there is no balance between the character classes. I will speak on what i know from experience. example:
DK's and Rangers have no less than 3 ways to evade/catch you.
DK has Rage yell which boosts travel speed. They have Charge and they have rage jump.
Rangers have Adrenaline yell, which increases travel speed. Blade dance, which allows them to not only move across the screen quickly, but do some damage on the way by. They also have Dive (jump).
SW's have just 1 ... teleport. does that seem balanced to anyone??
SW's chain lightning was nerffed some time back and limited to hitting just 3 mobs.
No other class was limited in this way... I have seen my DK strike as many mobs as can cluster around him with his bloody wild and mighty wild swings, as well as all the mobs in front of him with a rageful swing. Seen my rangers precision shot go through more mobs than i can count and the same with his row of thorns.

I could go on and on about the extreme "UNBALANCED" nature of this game and trust me ... this is just the tip of the iceberg known as Character Inequities. (Steam Mech's omitted because I do not play one) imbalance

If there is ever to be balance in pvp, first they would have to admit to the imbalance between character classes, agree on how to balance them without completely changing the nature of the game. And if .... and only if they could pull that off..... Then balance pvp using an algorithm that would assign you a character number based on your damage, crit chance, crit damage, armor, resistance, HP, Blocking, and blocked dmg. Then either match you to some who has a character number that is close to yours or the group you are in.... or start using a handicap system to even the battle field. Making things fairer for all players... f2p and p2p.

Does this sound like something that BP would even consider... let alone agree to??
And if by some miracle BP did agree to anything like this... does anyone think the DSO devs could pull it off without completely screwing the whole game up for months or even years on end???????

Careful what you ask for... you may regret ever having done so.

    Thanks, Doc.

Yes PvP balance is hard to fix as long as with the current glyph system, gem levels, and other pay-can-dominate attributes remain unchanged. Being strong is about how much you pay to get sacred level gems and all items upgraded to 49 and 50 which could get you dominate. I won't play unfair battles like that. When i see that imbalance like opponents having double above of the average damage inflicted among other veteran players in game, i will quit. Why let yourself witness him win fast and sacrifice a humiliated loss to have another new battle fast in return?

    @DocWhisky
Not sure which server you're on - I've got an SW and a ranger on Heredur and do 5v5, and I get pwned utterly by toons with really good gear no matter what class they are... and against toons that are not glyphed and gemmed up, I dominate. The only difference is that the ranger gets some honour from flag carrying, while the SW is very squishy and never does.

The biggest issue with PvP really comes from the lack of handicapping in the team selection algorithm, which seems mostly to arise from the size of the pool of PvP players. There aren't enough players to be able to get 10 toons of roughly similar capability together, which means that one team will be toast and the other team will have 2 or three players who end up with 0-10 scores - and that means that the round is frequently not very fun for 70-80% of players. You'd need to do something like reverse the honour-level-modifier so that Recruits are doing +39% damage vs AKotOs+ for a start.

I play on Tegan... Have a lvl 45 DK, Ranger and SW. Have played the game for almost 2 years now. This is why I said I speak from experiance. After having played all 3 toons through many events and most of the PWS I can say that, in my experiance, the imbalance in this this games starts with the imbalance between the character classes and extends from there. The conclusion is... if the charcter classes are so imbalanced, then how can there ever be balance in PvP..... you must balance the character classes first, and BP and DSO will never get it right, the only other fair way to attempt balance, is through a handicapping system, and BP and DSO will never get that right either.....
so...... this is the game ... like it or not, this is how it is. The choices are simple, You can either play... or leave.

Edit: The imbalance isnt just against SW's ... I just used this as an example... there are many others and they go against each class. If I listed them all I would take up a whole forum page. :)
    Thanks, Doc.

I play on all servers, but my main chars are on Tegan - one of each class, and all of them Level 40+.

It's not just the imbalance. I get that. Look, I've been here for the best part of 3 years and hail back from the days when we had 3v3 until we got 25 kills and got one point. It's the incessant coming up against the same people over and over again. Duel is the worst. Some nights I sit here for 8 hours straight and get the same group of about 10-15 players that you just can't beat. And no one else - most people have given up on PvP.

I don't understand why I need to come up against the same player 20-30 times in a row and lose 20-30 times in a row. Where is the point in that? Why not stop after the 5th loss? The 10th even. That would fix duels up quickly and restore some balance.

Then, why do I get 55 points for a duel loss regardless of how many times I hit the other guy? These days, I stand there and make sure I hit them once and then I just run a bit until I get killed. There is no point in even trying. As long as I hit them once, I get my 55 points and move on. I can't beat them anyway, so why try?

I mean, this is so f.... up and it's been like this for years.

Heredur is not much better, but at least there are still lower skilled players at the higher levels, so you get some wins.

And as for playing a low level char and PvPing... that used to work, until everyone started playing that way. I've come up against a Lv 9 Novice Koto with all legendary gear, and according to him most of it is Lv50. And again... you come up against the same guy round after round after round... where is the point?

Try playing a low level char on Balor. You walk out of Kings Hill and you're dead.

Yes, the Mentor bonus helps at the lower levels, but once you get to Lv 20 PvP, even the mentor bonus doesn't help much anymore.

And we get promises of new balances. And ELO and fairness. but if you play as much as me - and a lot of you do - you know, that there is no balance. And yet, the devs do nothing.

ELO does not work. I came up with my Ranger Lv45 Koto against a Lv45 Marshall SW who does over 3,500k damage to me with his electrical bolt and it listed me as slightly favoured? How is that even possible? Although, if that's how ELO is supposed to work, then I am beginning to understand why it doesn't.

The solution from Bigpoint? Twitch feeds that promise changes.

How about, after spending so much time and money people deserve at least some confirmation from the dev team that they are working on fixing this up, instead of the usual spin? How about they make an official statement addressing this issue? Is that too much to ask?

Dear Mr. Developer, I spend 8 hours almost every day in your game. Look at my account and you will know how much I spend, you owe me a god-damn explanation of why you can't fix PvP.

    Hi IWantedALongUsername,

I play PvP around 3 battles per month now, so its save to say...that i don't play PvP anymore because of the unfairness.

There are many easy ways to solve this problem, but the dev team doesn't want to.
I have given some ideas over the years and here is other one...

...simply limit the number of times each player can fight per day, example - 10 fights/battles per mode, 10 of 1vs1, 10 of 3vs3, etc...

Will the dev team do it...NO!!!
If just only most of the players did, what i do...then perhaps things might change.
    Until then....its only a dream!!!

I have stopped complaining about PvP, but i do like to discuss about it.
