Trying a mana setup and it works quite well... I only lose 1k dmg (with any ess, but I mostly use blue in any pve map) while my mana goes up from 138 to 214
Very useful for boss runs because I can basically spam Frozen Sphere endlessly.

I am using the old Grimmag's Robe, upgraded to lv. 52. I've also got the new Robe (tier 2) from Grimmag but it gives me less mana and somehow... it has 0 slots.

0 points on speed here... simply because I really do not need it. I'm even thinking of changing my last sapphire into an onyx as soon as I get a good one.

Here's what it looks like for now, but there's still a lot of work to do... mostly glyphs. However, I'm losing my interest in the game. Many players have quit already and I'm mostly farming solo now (it's not slow at all, mostly boring :p)

When I solo Grimmag, I change the dark boots for my speedy boots :p

This 1k dmg loss seems so high... but it's alright when using blue/pink/red ess. I still have 9k max. dmg with blue ess instead of 10k with my old setup. But the mana is just... so useful and powerful.

It's a bit awkward for me to post 2 setups in such a short time. Makes me feel like this thread is kinda unactive :p I wish more people would start posting here.

Opinions are welcome, I always like to improve :)

Enjoy your Sunday (it'll probably be Sunday by the time you read this :p)

You should try to get Grimmag's boots, they should be fine for you :p
So far you tested that config.. is it the bear pet most valued one?... what about the hen with 10% more crit dmg?

Oh alright, I'll stop lurking for a bit and comment. I'm too lazy to rummage up my own post, but the last build post I made in this thread was a few months ago, (the link is in my sig,) and it's fairly similar to what you have going.

I just push for mana over other stats, and you can see what gear I've picked. I only came back to the game after a few months of hiatus, so my gear is still pretty much exactly the same as it was several months ago. If you really want excessive mana though, you can go for Dragan set, but your crits will take a hit.

But substituting in 2xBloodtooth can compensate for that if he doesn't mind losing what is on those rings (Likely crit damage if I were guessing, so maybe it isn't that good). He wouldn't lose too much crit unless one of those rings is crit heavy. Just +5% CHR and the +crit that is on the shoulders. And that should more than be made up for by the damage he'd gain from the warlord set vs the 10% from the Darkness 3/5 bonus.

Don't worry, it's not an obligation. I won't kill you for being lazy. :p It's just the basic wish of having some more activity on the thread.

I've tried it before... but because you've come up with the idea again, I've taken the opportunity to try it again (without changing all my gems tho).

The main problem is that I can't get my crit over 50%... I can't even reach 46% with 1 Bloodtooth and my crit-ring :p (As you expected, my lv. 55 ring got 1103 crit)
And at the same time I'm losing 75% critical damage. (55% from 1 of my rings, 15% from the cloak and 5% from a gem that I've got in my Kaylin's Cloak. My current cloak got 4 slots while I've only got 3 slots on the Dragan cloak)

The damage and mana... yeah they are nice. If I put some dmg-gloves and boots, I'd reach 6688 max. dmg.
I just think it'll be less effective when my crit goes down to 46% and my crit. dmg goes down to 3,15.

For now I'll stick to dark set... Mainly because my left-side items are made for that setup (lots of critical dmg).
I might reconsider it when I get the right items for that build... but that'd take me some time.

I think the bear is the most effective... haven't calculated it tho. silverseas isn't the only lazy person in this place... xD

xD I was the same at one point. The SW thread's always been kinda quiet though.

It's possible to get over 50%. I'll show you what I have right now...

Basically you're just going to have to chuck out all your speed gems. Sargon's adornment was the most crit I could find, so I used that. And my belt at its current level is roughly equivalent to if someone had a 4x CHV belt that was all gold lines. With just these items, if they are all maxed out at lvl 55, and so are the gems, my CHV is capped at around 70%. But a lot more realistic goal is in the 60-65% range, I'm kinda bored of farming.

(Right now I have some crappy CHV lines on my amulet, but those will be scrapped if I ever get around to crafting a full CD amulet, so I don't include those in my calculations.)

Crit damage is probably the hardest stat for me to get more of, so just warning you if you wanna pick this route. Right now I have a 60-something% CD line on my staff, which is why it looks so high. I'll probably be crafting a dmg-oriented 2h (if I farm enough...), so that might eventually drop.

The trick is getting enough crit from other sources so that Bloodtooth is worth it and gives you good crit. I get 1087 from each of my bloodtooths on top of the HP which is what makes them so valuable to me.
Also, since the Warlord set doesn't use gloves/boots, you have some flexibility that you don't get with the Darkness set. You could use speed boots or the crit damage gloves, or you could use them for defense stats to improve your survivability. You could also use the New Moon boots to get back some of your crit damage and grain some armor over the Darkness boots.
That right there is the key. It could be done, but it would take time to build up the would make it feasible. It is just something to consider for the future.

It surely is possible (and you've just given the proof :p). I guess it would be very effective if I had the items to make it happen. Kinda jealous because of that lowlvl belt :D

I didn't think of Sargon's adornment before... it might be effective. So far this is what my deco looks like. Trying to use some onyxes but as you can see my onyxes are quite low and I only have 4 of them for now. :D Getting close to another +250 one and might consider tossing out my last Sapphire at that moment.

And, as you said already, the crit damage is the biggest problem and that's why it is the reason for which I'm sticking to my current build now. I would just lose too much of it, making it nearly ineffective.

While I'm at it... I'll just post my other left side items as well.

    My 2 rings:

My belt (I've been trying to craft a better one for a while, but no luck there yet.)

    And my amulet:

I'm not opening any more slots on those yet because I still want to craft better items. :p

So as you see, mostly crit dmg on my items and that's why it's so hard to change to Dragan Set. The items I'm using now are kinda 'built' for this setup. If I wanted to change (and honestly, I might give it a try), I'd have to get some new items first to boost my crit a bit :p

Perhaps the item most people are wondering about (not just on the forum but also in-game)

I accepted it by mistake by pressing the Space Button while I was crafting... However it isn't that bad... It just could have been so much better
    [IMG]

To be honest, I really like your setup. Dragan set gives more freedom of choice for other important items... there's a lot of variety for gloves and boots (speedy ones, crit damage on gloves, more damage-based ones or those nice New Moon boots). I'll give it a go if I ever manage to get the right items for that build. ^^

Just like you, I'm also kinda bored of farming... mainly because of BP's amazing (*cough*) drop system. A quick example of my anger...

All of them are tier3 and I haven't got the boots yet... I simply adore that drop system and the equal (nice joke) drop rates.
DSO's system isn't really motivating me... basically it's doing the opposite :D

    Enjoy your evening ^^

Could be worse. I've done tons of runs on all the bosses, and the only T3 unique I have is Heredur's helmet.

It's my only low level item left. :p I had to melt everything else for gop--a few weeks before they added the gop removal feature.

Sargon's adornment works well with Dragan's set in particular. Because it subtracts a % of your armor, but dragan gives you some % of armor, it doesn't put as deep of a hole in your armor as other sets otherwise would.

Whatever you do, keep your CD ring. There is another setup I have in mind to try. But I would need to farm/spend sooooo much to make it viable I'm not sure I want to do it.

You would use only 1 blood tooth, a CD ring, and Magotina's Dusky Boots, along with maybe a handful of those big red gems from the new full moon (sorry, idk what they're called ). You would need maxed size onyxes and maxed crit adornment+belt not to put a big hole in your crit rate, and your crit dmg should go up at the expense of some armor and hp, and either very little or no change at all to your crit rate.

Two things you can throw out right off the bat are pure dmg gloves (the CD gloves for ander will be better as long as you don't drop below 50% crit rate tbh) and pure dmg boots (white boots from NM are approximately the same in terms of offensive stats if you have some crit rate.)

Speed gloves are amusing to use, but laziness is settling in. I put all my pvp gear away, and I'm too lazy to retrieve them. PvPing with 0.79 speed is a really funny. XD

"my onyxes are quite low" --> 250+
"[the staff] isn't that bad" --> 1.5k damage

And that last bit (however, I agree on the "equality" bit... often some stuff are not that understandably less frequent as others)... hehe, guess those are some first-world problems xD. As a wise man said...
Or even worse... none, like me (though I have fewer runs under my belt than y'all) xD.

    Hi DSO gurus :)

I have a question for y'all... imagine I don't have any valuable legendary equipment, what would be the set(s) you'd recommend for a guy who is now planning to get more serious and start the PW farm and have only 1000 draken (will do events now regularly)?

I'm Level 50, spent some ($100-200) cash for speed and HP gems so far, I used to like playing with 2.30 attack speed and stunning mobs constantly but I don't even use chain lightning anymore and I'm OK changing my play style (now that I know about Damage Performance Index :) )

So it does not matter if it's defensive or offensive set - although I almost always play solo, so you'd say defensive I guess.

Bottom line the question is: What's your favorite set (or combination of sets) and what equipment is left for farming and crafting once you have the sets? (sorry if it's not the right place for such questions, forum newbie here)

Well times are changing. I would say using the old Witch Chasers set was a good starter set until you could set something better but it's kind of unobtainable now. Only sets worth considering are: Dark set, old Dragans set and the new Dragans set. I think if all you have is a lot of gems I would just keep farming PW to try to get crafting materials to make better items. Upgrade your items with any random legendaries you find along the way. You could start by farming Grimmag as the staff is fairly respectable, if you were to get lucky it would make for a great temporary weapon until you could craft something better.

What staff from Grimmag? Are you talking about Starlight? I haven't seen that called respectable in a long time.

Also thought he meant 'stuff' for a moment, but perhaps Teddy's 2h? Starlight isnt a staff but a wand. Complete junk, agree.

I it might be too, but he said "if you were to get lucky it would make for a great temporary weapon until you could craft something better."

That is the part that really confused me.

So I have recently leveled my Spellweaver to 50. All of my gear (except for the Witch Chaser set) has been collected "by the seat of my pants" and has no crafting or any kind of organization involved. I thought I'd ask others what I might want to concentrate on.

Right now, I die more often than I should when soloing and, when in a group, I feel I don't do enough damage. I can kill Heredur without dying but dang if that Rabid Wolf<whatever> in Stonekeep PW doesn't kill me more than I wish it would.

Here is my staff. It is level 46 upgraded to 47. It will take some 13 million GoP to move it to level 50 so I need a better one.

And here are my base stats, no pet, no essence (figured that is the simplest):

My best gem is a Radiant Onxy (one). Everything else is Polished or lower.

So, should I focus on increasing my CHR? Or my Damage? Or something else?

I also have some of Sargon's set, but it drops my CHR so low that it cuts my damage down to levels that are embarrasing.

    Thoughts?

Thanks for the answer, I guess you meant Darkness set.
I was kinda stupid and bought Grip of Darkness at lvl47 because there was a discount (i think). And the items are upgradeable 10 levels only, right? But... considering how slow farming glyphs is - by the time I upgrade it to 10, there will be a better set and even a content expansion to lvl 55 :D

_Baragain_, do you agree with EvelynJ about the sets? I know u're one of the most experienced dudes here :) what's your favorite set (besides your Dr Mad Crafter set :D)

As a mage, I can confirm everything else besides old dragan and darkness is junk. There are few items here and there, like grimmag crystal (if you have crit gems), or Teddy's 2h that could be useful, but as a base - dragan or darkness. I prefer 4/5 Darkness, with 75%-80% crit builds. But if I had less gems, I would go dragan. Dragan also beats Darkness in 1v1 thanks to block. Some folks also use Heredur's set in PVP.

Cool, thanks for the advice. I got a stupid questions though: what the heck is "Teddy's 2h" :D ? Couldn't figure out... what's the official name of the staff (if 2h means 2 handed)?
