the base stats 68-103 are way bellow Sunbone Longbow (45lvl) base stats 85-127

This tells us how less the DSO devs care about "LONG BOWS" in game

The only good this part of the weapon is for DKs. Its mid-decent for them.

Agreed that the weapon alone is just decent, but when combined with the other 3 parts of the set that will be available from the chests, it is actually rather good. With the 22 damage on the torso, the 10% attack speed on the gloves, and the 10% damage for the 4 pieces of the set, you'd gain some rather nice DPS... especially for a DK who hasn't found an uber 2h yet. If you combine those 4 pieces with the Warlord set, even a new 2H DK or someone just making the switch because of this set, would be formidable. Here is some rough number crunching.

That sword with 5x +15 rubies would gain 120 damage from that 75 damage worth of gems. That would make the sword's damage 496-583.

Say you use this with an un-upgraded Dragonache set. That would be 165 damage. Add in the +22 on the torso and you have 187.

So, you have 187 pure damage and 496-583 weapon damage. As said, we are using the Warlord set, so, including the 40% from 2H Master to get a 70%, your weapon would be boosted to 843-991. Add in the pure damage and you have 1030-1178. Add in the DK's base damage (before ancient knowledge bonus) of about 78 and you get 1108-1256. Now account for the 10% from the set and the 30% from the ancient knowledge and you have 1551-1758.

Also realize that this does not have any damage accounted for that might be on a weapon decoration or belt (since you'd have broken Keen's to use this new set anyway) and any glyphs that you may already have on your current weapon that could improve the new weapon's base damage and the +125 damage line very nicely.

That is a very respectable amount of damage for someone just getting into the 2H game... and that was just with +15 rubies on it. Here it is with some of the other possibilities.

    With 5x +20 rubies
    1646-1853
    With 5x +25 rubies
    1741-1948

My Build/Gems, but with the 4 pieces subbed in.
    Now: 1699-1981
    New: 1741-1949

Note, this doesn't even include glyphs on my sword. I have over 9M in my 2H at the moment. Who knows, maybe the glyphs could get the weapon to LVL 48-49 and that would bring some nice damage with it too. I could easily see my damage going to 1800-2000 if not 1850-2050 once I do some melting/glyphing.

And that is why I'm farming to try and get this set.

don't forget about speed 0.95 for 2h sword

Which is mostly compensated by the 10% attack speed on the gloves so that almost cancels out. The difference will be negligible.
