    Purpose:
Friendly sharing of PVP data helps newer and established players set reasonable goals for their characters. If you don't have a goal, you are likely on an endless hamster wheel. ;-) For example, achieving KOTO is reasonable goal for casual players.

    CAVEATS:
    1. The data is only for TEGAN.
    2. The data is always changing as matches are 7x24.
    3. There 'may' be data not visible due to DEV filtering (speculative).
    4. The data does not correlate to the time it takes to achieve those rankings (inception date, player creation date)
    5. Populations sizes for TEGAN and DSO in general are not possible to track since there are pure PVE players that never appear on the leader board.
    6. There is no last login time-date value so I have no clue if accounts are inactive

With all of the patches going on lately, I had a bit of idle time to throw together a simple set of Tegan PVP Metrics. Pulling data is a pain in the backside so I don't have a lot of information beyond what you see here. I'll leave out the 'analysis' as that is where things veer from objective to subjective. I would, however, comment that I was looking for a glass ceiling and didn't find a definitive one.

The table below shows a population distribution beginning with Centurian. I've subtracted out the statistcal noise of everything below that. If you are curious, I can post that level of detail but we are talking 58K+ accounts and most of them are 500 Honor Points.

For the graphically minded, the pie chart below displays the same data.

Here is where things become truly interesting, in my opinion. It really isn't until we start to look at ranks KOTO that we see the top 1/3. If there is a glass ceiling, it would likely be at the Flag Bearer level (which I'm probably about to hit next week). Unfortunately, I cannot see the groupings of the matches so I can't determine the question that is on the top of your mind ;-). What I can tell you is that the match making system has certain biases.

Now I did peel back a bit more data to look at the top 25 players. We have a certain someone who is probably a few days away from Grand Marshall. That is pretty much locked in and baked. I can also tell you that the Steam Mech class is lagging for obvious reasons. I was encouraged by that since it means that Mentor Bonus has 'some' limitations (other discussion).

Enjoy. Oh, look, the servers are up again. I guess it's time to start playing and less blogging. Good Luck!

Very nice. I'm guessing you're an engineer or scientist? I'm a chemistry graduate myself.

Cool. That is one skill set that probably saves you a ton of money. We had an inground pool put into our backyard this summer and the outdoor electrical quote was off the charts.

I'm glad you liked the metrics. I wish I could offer more data for everyone. I really wanted to do some pivot points based of HP level against Toon Creation Date (days). I thought it would be interesting to see the average, mean and mediun age (days) for the various PVP brackets.

    --MERGED--

I wish I had the chops for chemistry. I barely squeeked by in those classes. My graduate degree is in business. That left plenty of time for goofing off in college.
