It might be a good change for you, but you know something's amiss if the rest of the player base still disagrees. Let's just put it this way... I honestly would rather have CoT back and have crafting being free. Of course lowering the price is an improvement because what they charged before was absolutely ridiculous. At least before, it is possible for very low level people to work hard to obtain legendary items easily (farming CoT isn't that painful). Of course if you're an endgame status... you have all the gold to not worry about crafting even if it's still expensive.

If something isn't broken, don't fix it...

Yes isn't great that things don't affect players who got theirs before all these changes. awesome you can run paralle worlds solo. awesome that you can generate a lot of anderment that this crafting change was to get people to buy more of. awesome that no matter what new road blocks they come up with, you will be here wondering why people are complaining.

    ------

They just lowered the cost in ander's right not the cost in coin? Anyway no more crafting for me. It took me a while but got 100 for a cloak for my ranger by filling up my premium space and selling off.

And I don't think I will be getting premium anymore. Really saps the fun out of playing...

For the longest time all the updates have been based on the new/lower players. For a change they make some directed towards the older players.

Some of y'all are correct, I put my mouth before my thoughts. But, they can't base every single update towards the new players. Us older players are bored. I guess that's why I was tipping my hat to them.

Thanks for the feedback though ;)

After seeing a couple of comments from you, among others, regarding the P2W nature of Drakensang Online, I was wondering if you think it is a decent game for somebody who doesn't plan to spend any money and avoids PVP like the plague.

Instead of making new content they just make the old content harder while players have still yet to do it.

But this business and business is all about the sell. Nobody goes into business to let you have it your way. You get to have it which ever way they offer you to have it LOL

As long as new players come they are not going to fix this mess they've made of the upgrade path.

Yes. If you aren't too hung up about the dismal unique droprate and are okay with grinding, then it's alright. Even i avoid pvp like the plague.

Naw, I understand your POV. Thank goodness before the update I farmed up lots of items for crafting and had like 20 legendary all in my locker until the update. It's a shame I didn't pair up with too many level 45s during the event. I think I crafted only 2 lv 45 legendary for ID. So when the CoT went out the window I ID them all, and melt only the ones with worse stats. Not everyone picks up good tips from guild members/friends so not everyone was prepared for this kind of strategy. I just feel sorry for those who are starting the game and have it harder to craft good gear.

Now I just wait for special drops. Doesn't bother me if I don't craft. It just means more bulk for melting so I have tons of glyphs to upgrade if I find that ideal set.

I guess my gripe is that more veteran gamers are exiting out. You'd think they make an update that would entice new blood, not scare them off too.

Really? That's pretty sad. I don't want my body being wasted away in front of the Intarweb when there are roses to smell, a world to travel, a hug to give... you get my drift.

Infinite premium membership and a heap load of andermant can't fix position bugs, sappy rehash of events, crashes, lags and all sorts of uh oh unmentionables. I can't imagine escaping reality to DSO, even if I'm given the most godliest weapon and gear to my sweet little SW.

While I appreciate the fact that DSO lowered the crafting fees, the whole idea of changing from cots to gold missed the mark.

Grinding for cots was beyond ridiculous, but at least the cots were only good for crafting...

Changing to gold, has NOT lessened the need for grinding (which was the purpose according to DSO) and now has created a new set of challenges.

Do you sell or melt, what about crafting/swapping gems, not to mention the whole jester thing.

Now add in the fact that it costs far more to craft than you get from selling.

If their real purpose is to get rid of crafting all together, they are doing a good job. I cannot see any possible reason to spend 100 gold to craft crappy random gear with crappy random enchantments only to sell it for a less than 2 gold.

If DSO would take out the "random" which they claimed a while back was to make it fair between those who did and did not have premium, then that may make a difference.

Taking all that into consideration, should we sell or melt our items? Similarly, is Anderment best spent on gems or inventory space/Knowledge points for storage NPC?

I usually opt selling white items, melting anything blue or higher up tier. As far as Andermant, I would just opt spending it on locker/inventory space (if inventory, make sure you upgrade via NPC instead of individual row of slots) over gems because you get a gem per day with each login.

Then again I'm a F2P non-PvP user who's been playing for a year so this is how I stretch the value with the limited time I play on this game. I'm sure anyone who is more dedicated to this game who pays would have a differing opinion for an answer, and that's fine and would make sense for them.

Sarcasm reader broken on this chica. :p And judging some posts from other players on this forum, it's really hard to determine those who are lightheartedly joking about their playing habits and who are actual zealots who spends their entire waking moment grinding away on this game.

Ha ha ha, I think RL is underrated. I found out tonight that I am much crabbier in game during certain DSO events than just chilling in person. I hope after this Solstice Event, there will be a several day gap before the next event... but doubtful since if memory serves me correct, Defeat the Undefeatable is the next one after this. My gaming partner told me that lately playing DSO is stressing me out even more than my topsy-turvy clinic shifts... and trust me, that's a bad sign since DSO is suppose to be de-stressing, not the opposite!

Gold has become a more valuable commodity post R139. The green items have the highest comparative gold value and they are the most common drop, so I've started selling all white and green items. I used to just sell the green rings and necklaces and items that had crit dmg on them. But since R139 more enchantments raise the value of items, speed, crit%, etc. All that to say, sell the green items. The rest can be melted to accumulate GOP unless you are trying to save gold for a craft, cloak or purchase.

As for Anderment, since you are primarily a PVE player, I would expand carrying inventory first. More inventory, means more items can be picked up and stored without return trips to sell/melt. A time saver in general, but nothing breaks up a group faster than a "going to Vendor" message. The more you can carry the more you get to sell/melt.

The gems will come with time, and the stronger you get->the faster you kill-> the more gems you get.
