    The all mighty toon...

Games may come and games may go but Drakensang offers something rare you know... A game a bit harder and tougher than many of the rest... Yes, I know the pixels seem to be the same ...but trust me my friend ...I tell you this games the best...
With very little play, you will begin to see and I think my friend soon agree... good drops are rare and the quests are tough... listen my friend its not just kids stuff.... For there is this small toon that you pick from a crowd... you chose it randomly and thought ..."What the heck!?! ...I might as well".
You chose it to do your bidding and that little toon you know it does its best... it kicks, it claws, it punches at every baddie that stands in its path... Time after time it gets back up after thoroughly being beaten black and blue.... And all of this it does just to prove it's as mean and tough as you....
If you have played the game once then you know that which I speak is true... but now to reach top rank, you might better get a crew... For you see, months might pass out there in the uncharted wilds and oh the dungeons you will find as you learn your fighting style, death will come easy and play such a grind, you will find your toon dealing major damage and still dying all the time...
So you put out the call to friends who bear arms under a same gnarly name.... Your brothers, your sisters and the freak down on the end of the lane.... They all come from the wilds, the bog and the moor ... just to help you overcome impossible odds and even out the score.... For they are now family and friends untill the end.... Running in groups of 3, 4 or 5, you leave nothing standing, not one baddie left alive.... Along the way your toon, it learned to dish it out, all because now your fingers, they too know the count.... So play hard my friend and may your toon die well, oh and it will, with weapon in hand, all while making that great all-mighty final stand...
Now I haven't even mentioned the PvP, thats a whole nother game ... A side of the game made for the mentally insane... I bid you farewell for the patch is complete .... I am off to play Drakensang with Glundler the half-baked.
What else do you do while waiting on a patch to finish???

As tough goes, I guess you never played Everquest back in its heydays. But I'm nost sure the EQ formula would work well nowadays with Millennials.

Everquest was cool ... I have been hooked on video games since ga-nip ga-nop, which was played on a black and white television set and should have been called tv tennis. That was long before a normal person had a computer, before Packman, Galaxa or Donkey Kong. I have also tried most every online mmorpg and first person shooter games up to date. My boys are 25 and 26 now and they still call me and ask to play at times ... I know a tough game when it comes along ...

Drakensang is hard when it comes to unique drops I agree yes, but that's nothing new, just requires luck.

Your fairly new I guess? Well guess I agree that DSO was hard at the start when players didn't really get a lot of help, but had to help themselves. :)

Now you can what I would call "Complete" the game (Killing Destructor) and have a good character withing 3-4 months and without paying. If only you have some good friends to help you. As I saw another forum member mentioned.. *Once it took 3-4 months for players to finish the 1000 gold cloak, now it takes 1-2 weeks* I can confirm that.
Took 4 days for myself to finish the cloak.

I would consider DSO as a casual game, but hey that's just me. ;)

Guys ... It was not written to be a life altering event ... If I would have known it was going to upset so many of you I wouldn't have wasted the time to type it... and for sure wont in the future ...

    LOL

I wouldn't read to much into others posts, Plunderpigge. You should read the thread where the female complained about the new home screen. It was quite amusing. :D

Talk about a community coming together.........I still laugh at that one.

BTW, I reckon she left the game.
