So ..I stopped playing the game for various reasons some years ago ..And today , i logged in again just to see whats going on and pass the time playing a litttle bit.To my surprize , almost all my gear (legendary at 90% ) was gone .no weapon , shield ,clothes... all i had was some shoulderpads , boots , and a necklace . in my inventory , there were only some gems , and in the treasure box , almost nothing at all . if the account was hacked , i believe that everything would just dissapear .And i dont think thats the case .I tried to go and buy a weapon just to play a bit , but everything is bought only with adermants from what i saw .Did they change anything in a patch for the legendaries or sth like that ?does anyone know what the case might be and how to work around it ? I didnt know where to post this in the first place , and my apologies if its not the right place .

    Oh, boy. Welcome back :).

In December, BP dropped release 245 onto the live servers which changed a lot of the features and mechanics of the game:

    • Most older gear was automatically melted into glyphs of power (GoP) as part of the update script (hence, your naked toon)
    • Gear now can have up to 10 gem slots
    • Runes and jewels are held in new "trinkets" which appear in a new tab of your special items bag (accessible through the on the upper left of your backpack view)
    • You have to grind some of your gems into shiny dust in order to upgrade other gems (similar mechanic to upgrade runes; grind some so you can upgrade others)
    • Gear
      • You can't directly upgrade most aspects of equipment (e.g, using cores to increase the tier from 1 to 2, or GoP to increase the level from 55 to 56, or refiners to randomly re-roll the statistics of an item, etc.)
      • You can transfer enchantments from one piece of equipment to any type of gear (e.g., you can move in increased block rate enchantment from a shield to a glove) using GoP
      • Sets, especially the Parallel World sets, have been dramatically nerfed
      • Frequency of gear drops has been dramatically nerfed
    • Harvesting some raw ingredients to create consumable items (healing potions, etc.) is still possible but prohibitively expensive
    • The wisdom tree didn't change much (I'm not certain how long you've been away, so the current version may be foreign to you, but it's essentially the same in r245 as it was in r244), other than increasing the max Wisdom level from 150 to 200
      • Ancient Wisdom drops appear to have been nerfed
    • The skill tree changed dramatically
      • Skills for each character type ere nerfed, split into multiple weaker skills and/or completely eliminated
      • We now allocate points to some skills to make them more "powerful"
      • If you don't like your choices, you pay a hefty ransom in gold to de-allocate all of the skill points at once; you can't just change one skill at a time
    • Bosses now have a "shield" that you have to wear down before you start attacking their HP ... and if you're taking too long to kill the boss, its shield will regenerate
Plenty of other crap happened in the "expansion," including a torrent of bugs and complete failures in logic (e.g., new toons can't buy the initial recipes to craft consumables; if you open the equipment crafting schematic too soon, it doesn't register in your workbench and you're permanently excluded from creating equipment / transferring enchantments; the new level 55+ content is blocked behind a "paywall" of materi fragments, which you can only earn from killing mobs in the Parallel World maps, but you can't enter those at a difficulty below Infernal which is way too tough for even a previous mid-level end-game toon to solo, let alone a fresh level 55 toon ... get carried by a group or forget about ever entering the expansion area).

I would recommend you start a new toon, get a feel for yourself how the game plays now, then decide whether to keep going with that toon or just walk away. Reviving your old toon will probably be an endless source of frustration and lead you to quit even sooner

As my collegue dkarl said welcome FlashCry and in my modest opinion, you'd better have not come back. Lot of people is complaining how this game fell into desgrace. they put this last release in 3rd December and i'm still trying to understand it. It supose there's a link about the news but it doesn't work for me and i don't want to ask eighter. If what dkarl wrote helps you to understand it, good for him, but all us are waiting for changes...

I don't want to discourage you, it's your time, life etc... but maybe you need for games like this to see the good ones, like you need the darkness to see the light and distinguish between both. it's a proces one needs to pass before taking the right way. This is called maturing, but this game matured so much time that now it rotten...

    Thanks for reading

the game was really fun at lvl 55, it was even attracting new players but after the new CE the game was extremely boring and confusing, i was really sad because some players i knew at lvl 45 were returning to play but because of the bugs and of the new form of the game they stopped playing, I myself am waiting for some change if there is not, I will not return too.

Best thing to do right now would be ask some high lvls for group in event. With current mob-lvl-averaging system, it's beneficial for high levels to group with low levels. It shouldn't be a problem to find 100's asking for low levels on fatal or higher. There, you can just stand or run around, and gather items with level 90+. Craft enchantments with new style of crafting - explained, for example here:

After that, you should be able to play reasonably on your own in normal or painful.

Problem is, there's not much to do... new content is bland and boring, you can level up to 100 but that will actually punish you as mob and boss HP and attack rise dramatically as you level up. Gems and wisdom, currently most important components of a character, have measly drops, but you can wait for January update to see if that gets fixed.

First of all , I want to thank you all for your replies . Didn't think I would get any , to begin with ... Sure , everything you told me , is very helpfull and makes sense ..And i will probably make another character ..from what i have read , here and there , Dwarves are not that fun anymore . So i am still considering it . But now , new questions have born ..
1st of all , even if i wanted to keep going with my old "toon" , where could i buy gear with gold , cause i dont wanna spend real money on the game tbh .
And 2nd , What character should i make atm ?

I feel sorry for you, but sadly that's what happened to the old unused accounts. That is because of many updates that overwritten the existing gear, some gear got removed, remade and because of that some of it might have disappeared as you've said. It's pretty difficult to farm anything nowadays with the weak drop rates, but you could try getting some nice mogs (skins for armor or weapons), mounts, costumes or pets because now you can track your progress on getting them all thanks to the collection tab. It's just helpful and I don't know what about you but I love collecting stuff. When it comes to making a character, well it depends only on you. But if you really want someone's advice on what class to make I'd recommend Spellweavers because of high damage, versatibility and interesting skills. They also have some of the best armors in game.
