I once tried the mele assassin kinda ranger. It was kinda ok in PvE but in pvp i couldnt do anything xD

Look at those... from Russian forum. It beats most of what I have seen, all the mages and DKs in terms of dmg output.

He's level 45 .

 

My thoughts exactly... that has got to be one of the biggest cash twinks I've ever seen.

So many glyphs. 200m in the bow alone.

 

He has also posted some items, separately. All of them with 4 gold lines. All of them. And he has a few dublicates, as you can see looking at two weapons. And that all was posted a week ago, or earlier. How could one craft that many items in such a short time? Or, perhaps, they were not crafted?

He also was talking about test server, but I didnt quite get it. My russian isnt that strong. Could this be a test server account?..

Anyway, my point was that if done right, you can do crazy things with the Ranger, thanks to their longbow and offhand. He uses 4x CritDmg offhand, what helps him get enormous params in terms of crit and crit dmg, still enjoying lots of dmg from the longbow.

Im curious if that is at all possible with a mage or DK, in theory.

 

The issue is that the other classes can get just about the same, except the Crit damage, but they will achieve higher damage than a RA. Having that offhand item is super helpful when it comes to flexability.

 

By higher dmg you mean pure dmg or dpi? If the latter, i didnt figure such a setup having any hypothetical items. If pure dmg, who cares about it, unless you are a dwarf.

Also, forgot to mention that he seems to be pretty new player. He didnt have any event gems in his helmet. Maybe a year into a game, or a little bit more. I still dont get how did he get all those items, unless it is really a test server and he crafted there.

 

I meant higher damage. SWs and DKs have higher damage weapons when compared to a longbow, so they naturally have more damage, but they lose out on that crit offhand with 4 extra stats which allows for crit damage and crit levels that couldn't be reached by 2H DKs or 2H SWs. If a SW had a 1H weapon with similar damage to a longbow, but with the lower speed, then they could replicate the RA type builds, but because the SW 1H weapon only matches (approximately) a RA's short bow, they can't ever reach the same sort of unique builds that the RA has with longbows.

 

If he pumps enough real currency in the game with a lot of free time to play, I can see it. He already has the best gems off the bat, glyphed up 5-10 levels past his current, and an endless supply of red essence. If he spends his time farming PW bosses he will get lots of good items. If he spends lots of Ander at Jesters, there's a ton gold to use for crafting. Hell, he could also use Ander to craft endlessly if he runs out of gold. He probably has had a lot of luck as well. All of this is basing off of a regular server player, we all know there are accounts on the Test Server that are questionable.

Very nice. I think that this one is even easier for RAs than it is DKs... isn't that a reversal?

 

I'd say any boss that doesn't summon strong minions or uses strong homing attacks is easier for RAs/Mages. Or at least as easy as it is for DKs^^ RAs just usually have the highest ess consumption. But anyway, this boss has nothing to offer that'd be worth making him solo more than once
