    Let me make it simple.
    All the gear I wear is T8 or T9. Not a single piece did I get at T8 or T9. I got them all at T2/T3/T4 and Tier'd (IE Leveled!) them up to T8 and T9.

    So in the new system, to run the high levels to get the gear needed, I will still already need the gear in order to farm for the gear I need.
    EVER heard of "Catch-22"????

    Also, it sounds like I gotta go that without my cooldown, without my mana reduction, without my healing, without my armor, without my resistances, without my health, without my movement speed, without my attack speed, without some of my crit damage, etc.

    Sounds like I'm about to loose most of 3 years of end game strength work. :(

    And probably they're going to keep bosses and monsters as unbalanced as they are.

    And if the bosses of desert of essences are a preview for what's about to come, oh boy, we're in for a rainstorm of skatole.

    Also the idea of making PVE like a moba is nonsensical, mobas are pvp based, they don't have a levelling system.

    I'm in the same situation as you, but you don't have to run immediately to higher levels, I think we can match with bosses with 1/2 levels of difference and replace gear step by step while making good enchantments combination will be very easy (if news are effectively true).
    We are going to play a brand new game, don't agree?

    More like an Alpha/Beta stage game with trial & error changes every year or two.

    Except my experience is that it takes months to years to get some equipment... And your suggesting to do that over and over many many times??? That's getting into decade numbers, that is.

    Yea like I said before, my observation is that, it takes about a year to "complete" yourself, then you get to "enjoy" your gear for about a year, then Devs makes another 'expansion-revamp' and you are back to square 1 :D

    It's dumb and feels like a constant Alpha/Beta version.

    Except that it's been over a year from r220 and I still haven't fully recovered.

    And me thinks this CE will be much much worse. Me thinks it will be like when I reached level cap (2nd time, as the first was 1.5 day before cap raise) and couldn't survive any PW without a guild to carry me (back then there did not exist Old World "Painful", only PW !Painful!).

    I don't like being carried.

    Well yes, sadly the game is in "Get carried or Suffer for months" state.
    While "OP" players use others as donors for "free" farming.

    They still not bring the CE to the test server. It's almost half of October.
    They still not clarify what happens to our hard - painful farmed tier 10 items.

    they have said theat if everything looks ok it will come to test end of october. my bet is that about week after the current ghostevent version is deployed to production. They need to get it out of the way 1st.
    ps. i’m one of those that eagerly waits to farm new gear and content. old ones are so last season , just personal opinion. And I do hope that i can now make viable 1h build for farming(as well as 2h)

    Think about a damage build 1h with gwenfara offhand and her jewels for damage buff :D

    yup, been thinking this but problem with gwenfara is that buff triggers on mage, that I play, with magic missile,fireball or destruction... Those are not in current shape much used skills at all(especially on bosses where the most damage is needed). Therefore need to see is there something on CE that brings life back to those skills or set triggers would chnage.

    Maybe he is saying that because he was around 6-8 years ago when it was all just drops. After r220 and they got rid of the merchants we are all at the mercy of random drops. Anyone that was here 7 years ago knows what it was like to kill Khalys a thousand times for a level 40 predator. This nonsense BP is telling us that will have the freedom to craft, add gem slots to build the toon we want is a LIE. After r220 you will be at the mercy of an unfair drop rate. If you want a hearld bow and play with 2h build and only a predator drops. Then you will just play with a 1h build. That is not building the toon you want.

    I use a bouncing blade bow from Gnob I love it, have used the cores and resources to upgrade 3 of them till I got what I wanted. BP is not just going to have Gnob sell me another one at Max lvl and this new system I won't be able to upgrade it. That would defeat the purpose of all these new level maps. So when I advance and my current Bouncing blade is obsolete I will be forced to change. At the mercy of random drops maybe siege or longbow or short bow. Not sure why Gnob and the Premium merchant will even be here what would they sell. Guess everyone can waste their draken and gold on mounts.

    So he is saying that because he knows, like I know that the gear I have right now will be the best setup I have ever had in almost eight years. The Freedom I have to play my ranger the way I want will be a thing of the past.

    Well that is until everyone spends cash for gems and then BP changes it 6 months from now and steals everyone money.

    I've thought about this (event items e. g.) and the situation is as you said (till now)... From the information we have you are right; personally I will wait for the CE, but I am not sure that devs think about this situation as a problem, we know very well that all is decided (despite all the feedback over the years).
    For old equipment (legacy equipment) I have read on TS discord official that they will be discontinued, so only recent equipment could be used... Isn't an official announcement.

    1) I haven't heard any rumors about gems … are far as we know, we're just getting more gem slots on equipment, not new (higher level) gems, right?

    2) Have there been any statements about reworking / killing PW sets? Do I rush to finally land a Q7 weapon now, or will it be down-converted to trash at CE and/or will I have to farm for a replacement Q7 weapon at every level?

    3) I've read in this thread a recommendation to grab the Halloween event pumpkin runes … but those are currently configured for off-hand use only, and most players use two-handed weapons. Do we have a clearer understanding on how the "trinkets" will work? Will that off-hand pumpkin rune suddenly convey the same benefits when put in any slot in the trinket?

    4) Depending on the answer to #3 above, will runes be downgraded somewhat if the slot restrictions truly go away? (Another example, celerity runes have higher value when added to a weapon instead of an adornment or off-hand item … after CE hits, will the celerity runes be credited at the weapon rate or the adornment/off-hand rate?)

    5) Similarly with gems, will their value be downgraded to compensate for the new flexibility?

    This list of questions isn't necessarily directed at you, @gbit … and we may all just have to wait until the end of October when CE probably first hits the test server, but they're top of mind for me.

    higher gems is a rumor, and what I understand from other twitch is that there will be no more restriction on gems and jewels (you can put them in every dedicated slot), i repeat, this is what I've understood....it's not necesessarily in this way.
    for the general argument, I think they will not downgrade anything because bosses will be more strong then now....my opinion.
    but as you said, we don't know really how trinkets works and if number limits for jewels will be removed (and don't mention celerity runes and event item problem)....a lot of things are simply conjectures till CE arrives on TS; only then we can start thinking about builds.
    totally agree, the CE could be a great jump forward for the game, but also a great disaster...it not depends on us, I hope for the best :D

    p.s. for the question 2) i think we have to replace items every 2/3, 5 if lucky, levels...again my opinion, but if we can't upgrade items is the only logic conclusion (or there is a way they don't tell us).

    heres the thing, yes mm and fb is not highly used skills but lets say magic missile was a 15frame skill which it is,
    firstly we do not know whether crits damage and attack speed caps will be raised, for that given reason lets stay within the parameters of the current meta. a 15 frame skill at 3.333 attack speed meaning you do 5 magic missile per second.
    now you need to stack 25 thats a total of 5 seconds you need to do magic missile to gain 160% damage for 10 seconds and after ce possibly 250% with jewels on legendary level.
    what else you are not considering is that fireball will have a burst attack shooting all around the mage, so once again that will be instant fill up of the ghost buff especially at grimmag because og that tiny amount of mobs around him you hit 3 and all 3 crits together with grim himself thats a huge ghost buff boost, because its 4 in 1 hit, which in short could bring your time before ghost buff down to 4 seconds.

    In regards to that the devs will have to give the type of option they have given with premium belt, yes you are right to an extent but also belt of zeal can be bought on t10 in current meta, so why not allow for items from gnob be bought at max item level, and I would prefer that because the dark set might actually become viable again.
    we dont know for sure yet but we are getting 130 gems slots and from trinkets 70 rune/jewels slots
    yes jewels will be contained within trinkets and not in main gear.
    since it boosts a buff, I was going to ask this same question about a week ago but then also deleted it because obviously without the unique there can be no bonus.

    I have been trying to wrap my mind around this regarding runes, quite obviously the game works on absolute and relative modifiers, and since runes will no longer be able to be absolute modifiers so to speak* they will have to become relative modifiers.

    * This excludes the possibility for runes to become item specific, let me explain, lets say hp runes now say x amount higher hp on ring items, it could possibly work as a multiplicative modifier <- much like 3 dragan offensive pieces.

    But in total those would be your only options.

    as for this part, they did mention that gems will drop lot more often, and they also said that there will be a new way to upgrade gems, you will no longer be required to combine 3 to make 1x gem, which is why i havent been combining my gems ever since the announcement.
    and to top this off I am going to throw you a bonus ball xD
    in the discord they were teasing elemental gems between the mods etc.
    and ever since the announcement that we will no longer need 3x to make a gem, ive been thinking they will let us use core to combine gems.
    and not just any core, I believe once a gem is royal you can ( remember the old core system )
    venom core to make a ruby deal poison dmg blazing core to make a ruby deal fire damage.

    Would be awesome if they allowed for augment core crafting, but much cheaper and the cost would = the amount of levels an item jumps lets say 20 core per level or even 50 core per level.

    and my words was this:
    "I do choose the worst of times but, I would rather bring something to your attention than wait and possibly in the process forget, a player on the forum shed his concerns on merchant gear that cannot be farmed on higher levels, and in the process it kind of gave me an idea, if player x had a level 55 or 65 bouncing blade bow, why not let them augment their weapon with augment core to a higher level, but unlike tier restrictions maybe make it 20-50 core per item level, and maybe only those 3x ingredients and not 4 like in the current game where we need core from the relevant unique type?"

    I don't think they let us create elemental rubies, we have skills that give elemental damage.... My guess we'll have elemental diamonds with fire res, ice res ecc. Like the sewer runes (poison res).
    They'll never do this. If they do it, we will have the first day a lot of players endgame just in a moment.

    not too sure about that, if item cap is 100 and you need 20 core per item level, 900 core and @50 2250 core per item
    which will have to be refarmed and this even excludes the legendaries to do and this even excludes meta shifts, it also excludes the ability to farm on level x and attain the needed legendaries
