What is the purpose of thin client pre-loading?

    So the issue occurs for a few patches now, not sure since which. Its about the loading issue, as shown on the screen:

    It will progressively load, in batches, every 20-30 seconds, a set of textures, and it will keep them 'loaded' untill a new patch comes in and the issues re-occurs for all textures again.

    I've predownloaded entire game, 1+ GB. My question is, whats the purpose of predownload if it hangs nonetheless? Surely these should be predownloaded already? Why does it hang? Is it the disk?

    Also, when I wait for a 'batch' of textuers to load, and I try to move further, triggering yet another 'batch' of textures to be loaded, it will FREEZE untill the oldest batch is loaded.

    This means, the client freezes on multiple batch loading. Most GUI's are single-threaded anyway, and the loading of the resources is being dispatched to a dedicated thread. The issue I see here is that if the GUI thread cannot delegate loading of the resource to the loading thread, because its already stuck loading something, like network congestion, the main GUI thread will freeze, hence the game freeze.

    Can we please ask BP to employ a bit smarter developers, not outsourcing to india or whatever $5 an hour u can pay there?

    rant is over, this is so annoying, each new version each same s....

    My question was, how come a game with high graphics dependant like this only in 1+GB.
    And when I saw textures progressively loaded after my 1st patch. I assumed those textures does not come in 1+GB.
    It seems they want to keep the client to appear to be small as it can be.
    I guess in their side it is not critical to in game experience, thus not priority to fix.

    So i've gone to the event arena, lost like 2k ander on 120s' becuse of the particle loading.

    Heres' another screen, i've just switched over to 1hand and started teaming up for fatal, had a dwarf in team, first time since the update, particles loading, here how my screen looks like since about two minutes:

    congratz, your monkey developers have no idea how to detach resource loading onto a separate execution path, so that the interface does not freeze when stuff cannot be loaded in a timely fashion.

    You think i'm buying prem? I think about quitting this **** game because its completely unplayable, frustration for several hours as stuff loads and hangs the laptop.

    If i dont post anything else in few days then it means i quit for good.
