Why should players play with gears DSO decide for us?

    I have been playing dso more than 2+ years now and not for once have i ever played with full gears i wanted!!

    killed khalysy so many times and i still have no orb??
    killed mortis countless time and i am yest to get his mask
    killed desturctor many many times yet no robe, no wand

    so here i ask again, why is dso deciding what gears should i be playing with?

    dont we even have a say in it? farming bosses wasting endless hours, ess and pots all for what? and dso randomly chooses some guy and gives him that gear in first kill? why?

    if uniques are not bad enough now we have event gears with variable stats... god dont even let me get started on it..
    first we farm for portals
    then we farm for fairy wood/silver ess
    then we farm for blood/scrolls
    then we actully farm event bosses .. and if we are fortunate we end up getting one gear and then?
    we have crappy stats.. wonderfull!!!

    and same goes for legendaries? ~2k cots for id one gear ?? since months i have been id'ing leg belts to get full dmg. and guess what not even one belt..

    do devs actully consider players playtime? no wonder we are not enjoying the game... i love pvp and i have to spend endless hours on this boring things..

    atleast
    1. put a max kill limit on bosses so that we get what we wnat after xyz kills.
    2. take off this variable stats non-senses.. players are putting thier time and effort dont mock them with disgusting random numbers
    3. give player choice to change stats on a legendary to its liking.. take the money but let us play with what we want
    4.and have devs heard about trading in mmo's? some body tell them having trading will not reduce their revenue. dont we know happy customer spends more?

    Hi ArcaneMaster,

    I agree with you, the only unique (40+ lvl) item that i got till today, was "Tiamat" and i play this game for almost 2 years now.

    But, I would prefer that every unique in this game should be given by a "special quest" like Ammon's, ex...

    To get the "Amulet of Insight", we would have to kill...

    5x Bog gobbler (Darbmoor)
    7x Ivarra (Grimmagstone)
    8x Branard (Grimmagstone)
    10x Ian (Grimmagstone)
    15x Old Stag (Swerdfield pastures)...
    ...and these quests could be redone, like Amomm's quests.

    And perhaps all unique's should be scaled to players lvl too, but i don't know if many players would agree with me!!!

    Now that is an idea... so many people say "Increase the drop rate" or something like that. I really like the fact that you gave something other than the normal complaint that BP would just off hand ignore. I don't know about scaling the items, but I would make it so that the quest for a given item would only be available if you are "Level Appropriate" for the item. Like the Weapon of the End of Time, it should be frag based and not easy... after all, these are supposed to be "Unique." Another difference I would add is make the ones you can get from the quest have slightly variable stats that are slightly lower than the item you would get if it dropped, similar to the "Shady Weapons." This way, people would still be motivated to try for the original ones.

    Bearer-of-Death. i like the idea...quest are much reliable way to track progress and devs dont actully have do any special coding.

    so why not give quests for uniques.. like say kill mortis 100+ time for mask ..

    m saying 100+ because... having bigger number will still keep it challenging and let bp makes revenue from boss runs but at the same time make players fell less frustrated when he drops only greens....
