Hi ,this is my opinion about the event:
The event period is ok ,mosters r not that hard to kill ,i suggest to u all to go in grup of 3 all times in event alone is a lot more hard then u think.
If samone complain about the mosters strengh u shuld look at ur gear first,u go there with green-blue-purpel and maby 1-2 leg intems ,gone be hard for u to finish the event...before u complain u shuld go and farm for beter gear(look in forum Info for farming places and suggestion to improve) then u can do events a lot more easy.
the towers r easy to dodge if u get the right timming ,u get close where first tower shot then u start to run soon after the shot pass near u ,u run in straight line and u not gone get hit from them...
U can call to Big Boss far a way from the towers and u fight hm close to starting area wen u go to him..
Hard map is not that dificult if u go with grup.
This is 1 of my favorites events in DSO ..

I am angry too about thouse connection problems and hope Dev's gone improve this server so in future we gone be fine.

I feeling like those connection problems is Bigpoint Marketing strategy... Make you desperate to login.. but limit the time making connection problems and make you spend money to spend on anders to buy the essence to finish the quest in the time fame when there is no connection problems.

It might be true, but impossible to check. In the dwarf event, we were 4 dwarves and surprise maintenance... we we forced to use experience potions to reach level 40 in case the servor was shut down earlier than the 30 minutes lost.

Maybe bigpoint is making a contest with ubisoft, vivendi activision blizzard for the worst behavior possible / frustrating players and easy cash, letting the servors with low capacity because all money gained is invested like 1% or less.

Hi, i'm enjoying the event although those towers are getting on my nerves (lose them next time or make them less powerful), i don't even try to go all the way anymore. And even if the presents aren't good enough at least i'm making some glyphs.

The only way I was able to avoid disconnect/nebula errors on map 2 was to solo it. Unfortunately killing the bear uses more snow essence than it would in a group, and the whole map is slower, but it's the only way I can be sure I won't disconnect and lose my pass into map 2. So I solo both map 1 and map 2, because map 1 is easy to solo and why would I join a group just for map 1?

So, another solo event for me. Boring...

Fix... the... nebula... and... disconnect... problems. [Also, what's with all the rubber-band lag?]

//Off Topic//, but just to keep you up-to-date on industry news :) It's back to Activision Blizzard again. Vivendi is getting out of the gaming market. Early this fall they dumped most of their shares on the public market dropping them from about a 65% interest in the company down to a little above10%.

But getting back to the rest of your point. Perhaps there is a lesson here for BP (which is solely owned by venture capital groups like Vivendi. Actually Vivendi was was involved in the creation of BP but that was years ago and another story ;)) This business requires constant infrastructure upgrades if you want to maintain long term revenue levels.

This event is doable at least for the more experienced players. Farming snow ess, like someone already said, is possible if you keep track of time and know when the snowman will appear and is easier on low lvl maps, though i think it would be better if there were either more snowmen, they spawned faster or everyone in group would get the ess if one clicks the snowman.
Im lvl 45 mage and i spent 3 hours on lvl 42-43 map to get 999 snow ess and after that i didnt need to farm them anymore. Having some keys for the chests on the event map helped greatly since they drop 50 snow ess everytime and the presents give about 200-300 after the round so i got more ess than i spent, with group of 5 both hard and easy bear bosses together cost me max. 300-400 ess. Without group only the easy bear cost about 300 ess so i recommend going in group. And collect the piggies, you can find good map on wiki :)

I got about 700-800 cookies/round so the event was completed pretty fast, still 7 days left, so the event time is not too short. :) The difficulty of monsters on both map1 and 2 is good, but have to say i hate the stones :(
You can run through the bridges with stones with good timing and the first three bridges can be skipped, experienced players know from where they can teleport or jump over to the other side of the bridge ;) but still i died on those bridges quite often and there are too many... 1 or max 2 short bridges with stones would be enough (i count there to be 5 bridges the last big bridge area being 4 bridges), otherwise i think the stones are quite interesting new thing. There are just too many ;D

I feel the event is mostly towards P2P play because of outrageous amount of towers, F2P players barely stand a chance even if they skip a few of them and if not there is no chance at all to finish the event. Other than that it was fine, Im at 900 cookies and my goal is to get the gnome :D

Happy cookie hunting everyone!(and piggy's too!)

This event was great. Nice music, theme, and some new challenge. I really enjoy the adventure with snow christmas feeling. Great works!

But there is one flaw. The way we gather snow essences much like a joke. 6 minutes spawn and we have to compete with other player. And more surprise with 2x snow essences drop. It's implicitely tell us to buy snow essences from shop.

Add more way to gather snow essences. That would be perfect.

I liked the event in general, I am a F2P and I completed it in 3 days. Biggest thing that pissed me off is the nightmare map.
I went in with a group of 5 and that is when everything went to hell. We ended up with Big Paw and Solstice Man (Evil Santa). First off, Evil Santa acts like a DK, like Dragan. Oh, and did I mention that her heals for over 182000 health every spin... even if he doesn't hit anyone? That made it near impossible to kill him because there was always someone close enough to make him spin every 30-45 seconds or so. As one person in the group mentioned, we wouldn't have been able to kill him even if BP sold 3000% ess.
So we had an idea. We'd just kill Big Paw and get his drops and leave. We then spent a while and a lot of ess on killing him, only to find out that if you accidentally pull him too far right, he resets. We're in a FRACKIN CIRCULAR ARENA! He should not reset ANYWHERE in that stupid place. Three times... Three times, he got pulled too far right and our 10-15 min of hard work would go down the drain. Finally we do kill him, and what happens? Nothing... No drops at all. We wasted close to an hour and multiple stacks of different ess for nothing. I'll be sending my support ticket to see if I can get any of my stuff back because that arena was broken beyond belief.

Long story short, I want to meet the programmers that developed that "Frosty Wasteland" and give them a swift kick in the balls, 'cus that is what trying to finish that fight felt like... repeatedly.

There is an bug with that winter festival bag. If player have equipped it ... there are no drops from bosses at all. We killed Big Paws yesterday and he did not dropped anything. Not even copper. I know this bag works with regular monsters only, not bosses, but there is some error in code that terminates your drop from them if you have equipped it.

I have enjoyed this so far. I don't understand all the complaints about the totems. I am a medicated old dude  and even I could time them and get through ok. I mean seriously folks, gauntlet traps are one of the oldest things in dungeon crawls. Yeah, that one corner is kinda nasty but a tanky character can get the group thru. (You did remember to bring a tank didn't you?)

The scaling is good. Solo or group doesn't seem to matter. Group has been more challenging but that is because I have been mostly playing in the mid-20s level. A lot of these players have not yet learned that it is ok to retreat and take time to heal ;)

The event rewards are so-so. But a lot of that is just because I have been playing this so long that I don't need these. To a new player they may be very attractive. Oh, one note on the Frost Bombs... Has any dev actually tried these in PvE? They are all but worthless.

The sugar beet drops are great. I am going to have way more than I need at the end of this event.

    My main dislikes:

    • Gathering Snow Essence from snowmen in wilderness areas. Just paste all the previous negative comments about this here.
    • No quest for amphorae keys. If you don't have a bunch from previous events your only option is to buy. There should have been a quest to get these.
    • Basically this event is too heavy on the Pay-to-Play side.
Overall a pretty good event. Although I am getting a bit weary of having to gather a ton of this or buy a bunch of that just to play an event.

All right. So, here goes. I rarely post on here which is something I should probably do something about but meh. I like this event quite a lot now that I am at a much higher level. However, a few things that I feel ought to be changed or done away with completely.

First off. The snowmen ought to be in dungeons as several people before me have mentioned. Putting them in the wilderness areas just does not make any sense unless you really are trying to force people to buy it. Way to buy into the commercialism that is so prevalent at this time of year. This really should not be a money-making event, in my opinion. However, the alternative could be upping the drop rates from the snowmen considerably so as to actually make it worth the players' while. Clicking on a snowman and getting two Snow Essence is retarded.

Okay, enough about that now. On to my next topic: The turrets, also known as the "Never Ending Tests." What is the point of these, aside from causing "Never Ending Frustration?" Seriously, Big Point. What kind of drugs were you on when you decided to put them in the map? If you do not want to take them out completely, space them out more, or decrease their firing speed, or their damage. Two hits and I am dead. It is incredibly annoying to have to deal with team mates that keep getting murdered by your lack of good judgement.

The third one was the nebula errors. In reading up it seems like a few people commented on them. I might recommend more extensive testing to try and work out all of the kinks before releasing an event. Other than those three things I rather liked the drop rate for the beets. It was quite nice. Amassing them did not take very long at all. I also liked the event rewards quite a lot. I feel the amount of honey cookies that Big Paws dropped was rather fair. The quest to kill all of the monsters in the first map felt a little drawn out. It might have been nice to have the monsters in both maps count. It was doable, however. I also liked the drop rate of the honey cookies in the event maps. It was fairly decent. All in all, I liked the event and am looking forward to it next year.

The snow essence is no more an issue for me, I dont camp snowmans, just got few of them, the rest is from presents.
The issue currently for me is that the whole party is unsure if we should kill the bear, many lies that they have essence and act like they dps.
Many can't reach the bear becouse of this lame shooting heads.

Having this shooting heads, and the fact that you need specific resource to dammage the boss is the actual issue.

The event boss idea is lame, the shooting heads are lame and the fact that you must spam the chats to find party.
I see nothing else in the chat's except "event inv pls, etc".

Make an event where everyone is equal to particpate.
One can survive 4 hits from the turret, while others cant take even one.
One can finish the event for 15 hours, while others must farm for days and spaming chats, making finding groups for others map truly impossible.

As a dragonknight 2handed dps, the bear boss in hard mod is a big joke to me. I use the usual lame method, run and dragon's wrath, 5500+ damage when critical and I use very few snow essences in the end.

The full moon or bear boss are the same, people lie most of time, I let the boss 2% hp for minutes, I noticed sometimes the whole groupe has 0 silver scrolls, 0 silver essences, 0 snow essence.
Next, I kick them 1 by one.

The shooting heads are just a desesperate attempt to make people purchase premium.
You should be aware by now that nearly no player at all is able to speak english, they know about 15 words. You can try a level 6 years old english sentence, they are totally clueless.
I bet they never went to school in europe or are dropouts.

As for big paws goes I always spent the least when I solo it (both norm and hard) mostly cause of parasites that stick around saying they have 500 - 600 snow ess which is a complete lie.

There are just some countries that don't have mandatory foreign language in their schools or ppl even that talk English wont because of some political prejudice, not to mention that some countries limit the channel on tv, or access to internet, where most of todays youth learn english :/
