I agree... Dinosaurs? This isn't freaking Jurassic Park. If we're sticking to medieval, it should remain in the medieval theme or at least the correct era! I think having Tiger and Lions as mounts are a freaking joke. If they have to have some sort of an Aztec/Latin America themes, shouldn't the citizens of Duria be fighting witch doctors, voodoo people, undead indigenous looking people wearing tribal masks, something of the like?

When they brought out the legendary kings armor (based on Korea's hero Jumong), I thought they were bringing themes of the Orient into next content and if that were the case, then they should fight something like the vampires and zombies dressed up in the various dynasty costumes would be more appealing. Devs have no sense of creativity at all. Pick a theme and stick to it properly!
I think it's both that they don't have a freaking clue and they don't give two hoots of what their player base wants. This is why the retired stays retired and I'm sure the ones who stick around only do so because they either threw too much real currency in the game to give up or they play merely for social engagement with online friends (I go with the latter).

And there's nothing anime-themed to this game... if anything, it's the complete opposite. The ideas of freaking raptors is making this game going into the direction of complete absurdity. It's like if they don't give a darn about the whole Durian concept.

I dont really care what I am fighting against. Whatever type of monster they introduce, they will fight in the exact same way, only the model is different and ofcourse attack animations. All this is equal becouse at the end you receive dmg no matter what type of mob it is.
What I'd like to see is some more smart AI and an end-game mechanic, becouse PW are joke. Same monsters with 10x more HP and dammage, sure I call this elite monsters and I like them, but give them some more intelect from the ordinary monsters,as they are elites, right?

Be creative for the sake of your player base, act like developers !

If you want my honest opinion, all the creativity in the world would be useless if they don't address the existing bugs and server issues first. Improved game mechanics are absolutely useless if there's lags, glitches, crashes and the other ongoing sort that probably takes lesser time to resolve than lame new content.

Asking for smarter AI and game mechanics is probably asking too much from the devs. I'm sure that was something that was asked years ago by former player bases with not just only for end-game material but also events (if you dig deeper in the forum thread history). If they were to do that, I wouldn't ask for the end-game content but rather redo all the areas of Duria to bring back the appeal of existing/old content.

And one should care about what they're fighting against. All other games that have popularity have some flow of continuity in the story line. Like what others have said... raptors are too much. I already thought the whole Steampunk thing is a bit off-kilter but somehow it still ties in a little. Raptors don't really tie in as much.

'Duria' has gnomes, gremlins, witches, gorgons, undead, trolls, giants, spiders, snakes and killer robots... why is everyone freaking out over a few lizards?

P.s Forgot to add sludge monsters ;)

I can see that BP have a lot of influence from [EDIT] ... and my favorite game(s) [EDIT].

    You are wrong.
This game and all other [EDIT]-like games are based on a same novels by one author. The world is fictional and it have no relations with Earth's geologic/historic timeline.

Oriental history is not widely accepted and popular as European and Mesoamerican history. To be honest Legendary King's set is so ugly to me. :D

I'm beginning to think the worthless complaining is just therapy for some peeps. Or they need to look for acceptance through commiseration. Bipedal lizards with praying mantis arms make perfect sense for a tropical jungle, much more so than bow wielding deer and sling wilding dogs and bears. Why didn't anyone complain that Santa attacked them during the Christmas event, how emotionally scarring. Why dinosaurs? Well how bout nothing other than variety, something mentioned routinely. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll announce the new skills at some point and you can get all upset again and join the fracas of tears and noise.

Give the minutia a break at least till there's a better sense of the whole. This expansion is the first time we have had input and given the desires of the community to something so grand and I've never seen another game make an attempt at pleasing the populace on this scale by soliciting and then implementing their suggestions. So give the petty waaaaa horn a rest till there's something valid to complain about.

I agree BigPapa. I think the board is some odd therapy for folks. I'll just be happy for any new content even if we are whisked away to the land of Dora the Explorer. New content = Good.

To be really really honest.. IF this new event proves to be another *expensive grind*,, I would seriously consider throwing down the gauntlet and returning to *Perfect World* or better still .. perhaps the Dev's could ALL go on an *Education Creative Tour* of these other games .. with their *thinking Caps* and do something positive for a change, that would get us excited and *want* to stay and play.

**Yeah, I like to build up my character. I want to build up as many strong gems as I can. But the Devs have to make these maps so that the poor guy that started the game 6 months ago and only has a few polished gems and 1 or 2 pieces of legendary equipment can complete the same level 46 map as the guy that has 5 radiant (or better) gems in each of his legendary or unique pieces of equipment. **

I to feel for ** the poor guy** and totally agree.. with LordZod

    DesertKoala....Land of Dora the Explorer...HA :p

But I do agree......a majority of players seem to find or seek some kinda comfort in pointless....I'll do it...[EDIT] ;)

And yeah, why not dinosaurs? Why not samurais?...mimiatars.... griffins....why not angry postal servicemen packin AK's in there mail bag to kill your pet dog

BUt I also agree with whomever said it......fame tree should be canceled out in guild wars.

I personally don't like dinosaurs and insects too much, at least in a fantasy / magic game. (occasional levels are would be ok though)

Just watched twitch preview of Lor'tac maps. I really LOVED the maps, colorful, lots of light, the monsters match well with the scenery. My fave was the Jabba the hutt, frog monster. Good Job

When Greg was playing the Map as a preview in the 30Apr Twitch, he kept saying the mobs were too fast and he would talk to the Devs. NOOOOOOOO!!! Let them swarm with high speed. It may actually require group tactics and skill to get through the map the way it is. Right now the only thing that increases difficulty in a map is more HP and damage from what you are fighting. Find some new ways to make it challenging and fun, like fast moving swarming vicious dinosaurs, and worms that attack when you kill the thing. Those were obviously things the dev's considered since thats what was there. Don't change the things that add challenge and make us rinse and repeat every other map we've encountered.

I see no real difficulty here for a DK soloing. The frog monster has high damage, but slow attack speed. For soloing, dodge first attack, get up close, headbutt/smash/MWS. The rest of the mobs swarm but that means more HP from MWS. I'll need to wait and see, but it looks to be following the normal DSO approach to bad guys; that is, one ranged, one fast/low damage melee, and one slower/higher damage melee. I'll be more interested in seeing the later maps and the bosses.

Also, it would help if Greg knew how to effectively play a SW. He changed his skills, announcing that he likes chain lighting, but then he doesn't use lighting strike. The only good reason to use chain lighting is to charge the bad guys to do the high damage with lighting strike... which he didn't use even once. I'm sure that a SW with decent gear and actual strategy/tactics will have no trouble soloing those maps without reds.
