New PW item sets

I don't want to melt them yet. I'm waiting to see if there will be an achievement for the set.

The deco and the shield are looking quite tempting, if I get the luck, I'd use the boots and the deco for sure (in PvP), maybe just the deco in PvE. A boost on Destruction is nice

 

Why can't I craft 3 set pieces + stone to make rank 2, like with the rings?

 

Because the stone is only for the rings.

 

Crafted Heredur ring today. Not sure why, perhaps just to free 7 slots in the inventory. Why don't they make those rings really good, at least on par with close to perfect legendary ring of a kind.

 

I got one of those rings earlier today (tier 1). My first thought was "Oohh, melt!" The only two rings I'm interested in making tier 2 of are the RoL and the RoD.

 

RoD has very low critical damage comparing to legendaries. The % line is also very low, especially taking into account how the % damage bonuses work. I own a couple of lvl 50 RoD and my optimizer tool says not to use them and stay with crit/CritDmg rings instead. They have to rise RoD crit dmg to 20 or so.

Agreed on the RoL. And that other ring with the mix of different attributes might be good for some balanced builds.

Plus upcoming dragonache could make all of them useless.

Right now the only unique ring in the game I sometime consider is Ring of Inner fortitude. Not that useful for DK though. Dragan ring could have been better, if they replaced that noob warrior by some speed line, either attack or travel. And optimizer also ignores current 25% crit dragonache ring as not effective, unless dragan set is used.

 

I am not spending my time with worthless rings ... only RoD is worth using it.
And I agree RoD's crit damage or % damage must be increased.

 

Your optimizer sounds really neat. Will you make it available for us at some point in the future? I would love to use it.
Currently I only use a dps calculator when I'm comparing offensive items and a total defense calculator when I'm comparing defensive items. But your tool seems to have a mind of its own, I like it

PS: to everyone - instead of these crap unique rings, I would love 2 rings with 60-70% crit dmg each XD. What's the crit dmg max? 15% ? I got a 17% line on my arrows but I don't know if the max lines on the rings are the same with those on the arrows.

 

Max crit damage on a ring is 17% (found here). So, the best you could theoretically get is 68%. That means, accounting for random, 60% is a very good, but halfway reasonable, item to hope for out of a Fatal boss. Best I've seen so far was 27% in 2 lines so good luck and happy farming.

 

Both latest (almost) source code and executable are available at my github page, not sure if can share a link over here, guess no) it only supports 2handed builds tho, and doesn't take speed/mana into account when deciding on best damage build. It maximizes the damage+crit+crit dmg. Since we all have pretty much similar items, It ignores karabosa, new karabosa, dragan, dragonache sets. It says to use 4/5 of darkness, with the 2 handed staff with one crit line instead of pure damage one, and also suggests lots of crit/crit dmg modifiers in other items. There is one interesting thing. In green essence mode, it says to use 20% damage torso. In blue - 10%dmg + 57dmg, in purple/red - switch to darkness torso but change darkness boots to damage boots (105dmg).

The resulting build has 75%crit, 298%of crit dmg, 4.7k max dmg or so. At least that is what I use right now for farming

I tried most of the new PW items as well, all of them are ignored.

 

Your tool is very smart and is confirming my beliefs about what items increase the dps the most on the left side, which is crit and crit dmg. I think it's a very useful tool to setup for boss fights. Where you don't need so much speed, but only crit, crit dmg and dmg and concentration / mana
Maybe you can tweak it to give advice for 1h + quiver / book too

 

Really man? Thanks I can read. What is the logic to make 1 set of items craftable, while the other set not?
It's not like the PW set is OP to be given hard time to obtain, nor the drop rate is decent. So why make it harder to get?

 

Because BP seems to think that people will grind for a useless set. When it was buyable from the frag store, it was OK, now it is just a waste to even consider any of the high tier pieces. I wouldn't mind using a tier 3 torso with my DPS build, but the idea of farming Kahalys enough to get it is repulsive. Back when you could buy them from the store, I could farm frags wherever, but now... it's a joke.

 

Moon events destroyed... PWs messed up... I fear to think what could be next.

 

What are the stats of the Tier 2 ring, if I may ask? I have three rings and 36.000 fragments, but I'd rather not spend them on something entirely useless (like a Tier 2 ring with just 1000 armor and that's it).

 

Well hmm the rings... The Grimmage ring seems nice at T2 but... Is it better than...

We'll if I am needing fire resistance then it is perfect if you obtain 2x. my ring provides me with 62 and 64 damage so yes I do loose out on some damage but if I want fire resistance then they are helpful.

Ring of Life is nice to have as a backup for some bosses and mini events. I am very blah on the mini events maybe after a longer period of time and upgrades they will be awsome again.

PW's messed up. Not so much.

PW are made okay-ish. But there is no space if they want to add Lor' Tac as a PW maps, they should live the hub open-ended.
But they are still boring. Same mobs, same champion location, every time.
More random mobs, more random locations. Currently all we have is hard-coded. These 2 programmers shown in the xmas video do not keep up with programming trends. TON of new stuff since the last 5 yeas, yet they use decade old architectures.

 

What I meant by "PWs messed up" is what is written in post #35.
