Okay... So, I have reached lvl 50...

    -----------------------------------------------
Oh... First of all, I want to swear a little at the ones who recommend newbies to lvl up at 50 as fast as possible: @!%$#E&^%^$@###$#@!@$!$%&^$%^$@$#@#$!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot!!! You've just ruined my game!
    -----------------------------------------------

    Alright! What now?
I have tried the first PW mission in Grimmagstone and it took me about 1 hour o_O to clear the map (didn't really wanted to waste blue essences, but in the end I did ) [it was painful... oh yeah, the difficulty level too], and I died around 50 times, so thanks to the contest premium (which expires in around a day and a half :() I managed to go thru.

So thanks to your advices, and my poor (PRNG) luck, my equipment sucks. I'm mostly stuck with lvl 40-45 equipment.
My only unique items are: the Deep Sea Set (took me a few weeks of farming to get the last 2 pieces, the first 3, I got them thru normal gameplay), the Vargulf Mace and The Legendary King's Celerity.

    Sooooo...
    What now? What's next?
Enlighten me, almighty lvl 50 DKs!

PS: Forgot to say that after lvl 50 and my fist PW run, I've kinda lost all my DSO rush, and without a purpose in mind (I don't even dare to go to Balor, quest still in my tab), I just wasted some time in PvP getting massacred.
    Cheers!

EDIT: I forgot... I have around 2000 drakens. Should I get one of those lucky spheres from the gnob? If so, which one of the sets will help the most?

Reaching level 50 means you can now unlock all the game. This is a plus. Getting a Level 50 DK means people will want you in their party. Not every DK is good but if you have a decent Guild then I am sure they can help you get gear and melts. You will want to get access to Stonekeep and farm melt there for awhile.

I agree I have a level 46 DK and with the unlucky drops most of my gaer is Lv. 40 I don't last long in stone keep and during Xmas I just turned a Lv, and the monsters became all the more hard.

So I made a different DK.

I don't belong to a guild and took my 5% extra Ex. gem off. I don't want to be a twink and never play PVP, but on the other hand I don't need the Lv. Quickly.

thats was i thinking before most of the veteran recommend to reach lvl 50 fast.now you feel their wrath. to think this the game DSO more benefited for the pvpier player for competition coz they want challenge and advance in any matter. challenge is not the computer's program. its the player capacity and also their time, money spending on this game.

You might be surprised. Even with a noob/moderate DK, you will do much better in a full group, even if everyone is at the same stage of development as you. The reason being is that SWs will bring crowd control. The SMs can bring sustained damage. RAs can bring some burst damage and an AOE armor break that can be used regularly.

The other day, I brought my SM (who is nowhere near as powerful as my DK) into the PWs and I was in the a full team. The DK would have never been able to solo it on his own, but with a full team of 2 SWs and 2 SMs, it wasn't too bad. Now, that being said, having a uber DK makes it much easier, but it is not necessary.

That being said, if you are bringing a full group with you, you can also move your skill points around and load up in the HP department. That, combined with the regen skill from Battle Frenzy, and you should be able to do the tanking while the rest of the team does the killing. Some people have lost sight of the fact that this is a "MMO" where the key is "Multiplayer." You need other people... There are very few that can do everything themselves.

The PWs are not designed to be soloed and only the veterans will do it easily and fast. Team up, work on events for gear and more draken, and before you know it, you will be just fine.
You can wait until you have 3500 and use that to get the first piece from the Dragonsilver set from it's lucky sphere.

Well .. I can say you're pretty much screwed (excuse the expression) since you leveled up fast to 50. Now all you can do is stick with it and try to get Karabossa set and go 2h or make a new char and go slowly and play smart. You do not have to be a tweak to be good, just play smart and take your time to level up, farm, farm, farm (not the bosses, unless you have xp block).

Disagree. Far better option is that he saves enough draken to buy LifeKeeper, since there will be 4 town's attacked this year and the set gives some really nice stats making the Dragon Silver set obsolete.
Set from Attack event bonuses are:
    2 part > +15% increased armor
    3 part > +15% increased all resistance
    4 part > +15% increased life
5 part (full set) > +5% increased armor, +5 increased all resistance, +5% increased life, 33% cooldown reduction for Rage Jump

That is way better then Dragon Silver and cost no draken.

Just play Cradle of Life and Cradle of Death until you get decent items.
    And of course events.
Your main issue is you don't have good gems ... for gems you can make Nahuatlan runs. Those Andermagic monsters are having very good drop.

Yes I read it and let me explain what you will want to do I'm more detail.

You will need help getting past Grimmerstone And Pasted Arcana once you have done this you then can proceed to farming stonekeep. You will have access to Level 3 so if your Guild is doing that then you can aquire gear to help you do events. You will want to farm Here during Level for his shield and or get a good legendary shield. Baraga in has a well in depth guild to look at. Farm Drake and at level 50 you can obtain 300k to 500k Glyphs an hour so you can build you armor and hp. Give it a few weeks and I personally don'don't like sea gear nor the full moon mace. A nice Legendary Club or Mace will go farther. And for the legendary kings armor it takes to many to obtain the 25% damage where you can be a better tank with a good body at 10% damage and prepaid to obtain the warlord set.

I've posted those just to get an idea about my poor drop rate... The other uniques that I got were the Splendid Durian Set, Shield of Slaughter, Tegan's Suit of Armor, Legend and the Robust Norseland Armor. Which were melted.
That completes the list of all my unique drops.

    Welcome to end game. :p

My advice is not to depend on uniques randomly dropping to save your character, but make use of whatever legendaries come your way. There's a useful list of the max stats on lvl 50 items (much scrolling down to see the list, lol), so you can compare what you get against that to see the strength of your items. Legendaries can outstrip a lot of unique stats nowadays, and besides... last I checked, legendaries are easier to get than uniques. XD

Improvements will be gradual. Since you're new 50, you still have a lot of possibilities for growth. Improve things like: gems (either buying with ander you farm, or gamble gold at the jesters), gop for upgrades (melting whatever gear is deemed too crappy to use), and so on. I think there's a lot of DK-themed guides floating around the forums, so take a look at what they have to offer in terms of advice, and think about how you can get there.

To be honest, most starting players are going to need to rely on a group to do PWs. So I'd advise looking for a guild, and forming parties. It's a lot of grinding, so may as well make some friends and have fun. :p

Getting to lvl 50 fast is good advice (relatively).

The lower level (non event) sets are junk and should only be picked up for the achievement when you're bored of farming the same old pw maps.

We all depend on the rng gods to drop something useful. For some players they get lucky and get useful items quickly. For most of us it takes years to get something to be proud of. Maybe (but I highly doubt it) crafting 2.0 might help a bit.

For pw farming you'll need help as suggested. Those maps are supposed to be tough. When you can't find groups, cradle of death seems to be the better of the regular maps.

For gems, I've had the best luck doing Gorga runs. Sure it's boring and all the other drops are worthless, but gems drop regularly and it's very easy to do. Gems can make up for bad gear to a certain extent.

I was in the same boat as you when i reached 50 with my dk. Having everything from 40 level and up it was hard. Yours first aim for gear is the witch hunter set, a double handed and farming pw normal maps will be "easy" but you need to do some running around till you get better items to actually stay alive when you get hit. That's for the solo part since i farm everywhere solo and i only tank on fatal bosses with group(usually me tanking and one SM for the damage). I found myself staying alive with a double handed better than a shield and full deff setup when soloing and raising my char. If you have friends or a guild it will be a lot more easy.Get another 2k drakens and get the bloodtooth that ring worked like a charm for my DK.

Get that up as fast as possible - getting to level 50 means getting up there in the wisdom tree as well. Another 24 wisdom points will solve some of your issues. Do you have a second character you can alternate dailies with for mentor bonus.?

  17. bLaind

    bLaind Forum Baron

That's what I did so far, but with my earned premium running out, I'll return to a slower wisdom daily challenge completion since I won't be able to reshuffle to get rid of the PvP ones.
    What for? the HP?
I do have an exo ring of a little over 900 Hp points.

Wisdom points will definitely help a bunch. Depending on what gear you have, you may have better luck doing the pw maps 1h with a good shield. It will take longer to kill monsters, but you'll survive.

When you get to Stone Keep things open up a bit. You can do the 3 mini boss runs on that map and improve your gear relatively quickly.

Sadly in the end, like all of us, you'll just have to wait for the RNG gods to bestow upon you a nice weapon. That makes everything else look good.

The hp and the boost in crit helps a lot with the damage and one 2 handed. It worked very good for my solo playing and it still does.

  20. _Baragain_

    _Baragain_ Living Forum Legend

True, that will make for a really nice tank, but if the past is any indication, the offensive stats will be lacking meaning that nothing will be able to kill him, but it will take 5 min+ of pounding on a mini boss to kill it, if he tries to run the map solo. The Dragonsilver set is very useful for a well rounded build.
Another important thing is to have a second character. You don't need to play often, but if you upgrade their knowledge level daily, eventually, you will be able to leapfrog your knowledge mentor bonus and you will be able to level up three times faster. In fact, if you can make 3 alts, it would help you with this even more so that you are less likely to hit bad days where the PvP dailies pop up.
