and you keep placing those 1 hit kill totems, very funny

 

i dont know what do you mean by 1 hit kill they need like 4 or 5 hits to kill me . Just so you know these 1 hit totems were in this event since 5 years so yeah quit complaining and up your resistance and hp

too easy

I finished in few time and I haven't dropped gnome piece from boss in 30 round (most of them in Infernal I) and many friends got it 2-3 times.
I hate this kind of reward based on lucky

 

dso have 4 classes, you can try play with all them, enjoy

 

The event is pretty much the same as last year. Progress is pretty fast (at least on the harder modes), but the rewards for the main event are still a bit lousy.

I would much prefer a harder map with better rewards. I do notice that the monsters don't hit quite as hard, but it seems (my opinion) that their HP went up a bit. Not game breaking by any means.

Overall, it's an okay event that doesn't require a ton of time.

 

If you don't usually use something defensive on offhand, have you tried keeping something like that around and switching to it for the totems?

And if you have it, use the fennec

The event is fine, easy to complete
The drop of the pet part is complete cancer

 

This year the event seems to be a bit easier than the year before, because my char has improved a bit, however, I still strongly detest the shooting thingy (still cannot remember its name). They are still a nuisance! and I wish they were removed so more ppl could enjoy even harder modes. Not everyone's playing a DK

As for group experience- the piggies issue hasn't been repair :/ Only one person in a party can claim them. Why don't you fix it? It's so much funnier if we can share them.

Several bear kills and still no pet part, gonna try till the last day I guess

Will the mini challenges be available on normal mode or only from painful + ? Never did them and they seems so difficult judging from the vids ppl posted

 

Why was the Winter Solstice Star discontinued??? It was a VERY important rune and BP didnt even mention why it was taken out...
I mean Im OK w it, cuz Ive got 5 allrdy, but its not fair to newer players who cant obtain it... It the Saphireproblem all over again...

 

How do you get to the calendar map? I can see no snowglobe in the fairground.

 

You are one of the oldest players and yet you seem terribly noob. I know players that are newer and yet know more than you. First of all, the official guide of the event that was posted on wednesday reveals all the rewards from both the event progress bar and the challenges-mini events rewards. If you are that old of a player, you would have already checked out the guide and you would have seen that the soltice star is there but as reward in the first mini event. Not only that but trakilaki in the wikia guide has it there as well. What the hell man

 

The Solstice Cave is always starting few days later than the event.
Last year it started on December 6th ... so I guess it will be the same this year as well.

Here is my #1 complaint about this event. The DSO team knows that those shooting heads are broken and cheap... That is why they gave you a way to shut them off in Q8. So, if they know that it is an awful mechanic, why didn't they modify the Christmas event with a similar mechanism to shut the stupid things off. On Infernal, those turrets are pretty much a 1H KO for all but the tankiest toons. Take some of the common sense displayed elsewhere and spread it around.

Other than that, it is as easy of an event as ever. Less than impressive rewards, no items or sets worth farming in the main event, and too long of a map to be really efficient to farm Draken Cores. All in all, the Christmas event needs a serious overhaul on the scale of the Sargon to Dragan event conversion. Please don't give us this same event next year.

 

actually they are not that hard to avoid. just a little trial and error and you can run past them. adjust your travel speed and start your run just after the 1st totem shoots. this is the single best way I found to pass the eternal challenge.

 

I've seen your toon, you have no business playing anything above painful. Why do you think you know who can and who can't survive icy towers on inf is baffling. 3 years ago I came to the conclusion that every player should have a shield for such obstacles, yet 95% of you still haven't.

 

Really? Nothing above painful for me? How about you tell that to all the people I've carried through Excruciating and then tell me that again after I've soloed a Fatal map?

I may not have posted stats in several months but I'm more than capable. I could handle Infernal I, but it would be wasteful of snow essence compared to the cores that drop, and if I were invited to an Infernal II map, I wouldn't be dead weight. I'm not saying these changes need to be made for me. I'm saying these changes need to be made for the larger majority of players. I think of more than just myself, do you?

And I have no idea if you are being elitist and saying that the towers are too easy and the ones on infernal aren't that big a deal, or if you are saying that these turrets are still broken and need to be fixed. Sure, a shield helps, but explain to me why they shouldn't implement a mechanic similar to Q8?

I checked. The last time I posted stats was on 3MAR (immediately after reaching LVL 55) and 11JUL (after making the switch to Bellicose). During the time between January and September, I was playing about 4 hours a week or less, but since I returned to my normal schedule ten weeks ago, I've been catching up nicely. In the past 70 days, I've gained 9.5k HP (~about 25% improvement), 5k damage (about 50% improvement), 14% crit (about 33% improvement), 10% crit damage (10% improvement), 7% armor (about 14% improvement), and 5% resistance (about 15% improvement). I thank you for your concern about my stats and ability, but I'm quite fine without your uninformed opinion.

 

I like the event. It is not hard core. A casual player like me can complete it.
It gives great rewards. Lots of red essences and an armor rune at the end. Excellent.
Also, tons of presents and gems, worth farming the maps even after the event is over.
You can also collect Draken Cores.
