Why ranger's 2h weapon have a low drop?

Hello, I come across this post expressing my indignation towards the rangers regarding the drop of 2h weapons. Currently I play in 3 classes (war, mage and ranger), but I compare 3 and the 2h bow drop is extremely low, while in war and mage I can get in 1 hour farme many weapons, approximately 10 magic weapons (not counting the extras, because in the case would be much more than 10) in the ranger this number is reduced to 2 weapons, this when some falls. Talking to other players all have the same problem with the drop and this makes it much harder, because if the game is currently "balanced" in terms of stats, should also be when it comes to drop! I hope something is done in relation to this class situation, I do not have to complain about the other drops only of 2h weapons.

I thought it was the same for all classes, because a 2h weapon is basically 2 items in one, or so it seems to me, and so it would make sense if they dropped less frequently (but for all classes, ofc).

It'd be nice to see a comparison if someone could do like 10 runs in the same map and same difficulty with all character classes, and then show the number of 2h weapons dropped...

I play a ranger exclusively, and if the difference is such as you described, I would not be very pleased :/

 

Unique drops have been low since the latest major update came out.

 

Τhats not too bad! If u mean about the d unique drop, it make sense by the time we can buy them at a low price even at lvl7! The dso 5 years ago used to be hard at drops and u couldnt buy the items either! Maybe the game should be a little more hard on us on this topic.

 

I have three different classes, and my ranger is definitely getting fewer two hand weapons than the other classes. Also fewer longbows than shortbows, by a LOT.

 

I'm playing with warrior, but I think that is unfair with rangers. For me all class must have the same chance.

 

It has basically been this way since the hoaxbow wan introduced. It has become a bit more this way since all the drop tables seem to have been reworked.

Do you think they made drop rate of 2h bows lower just to compensate for the op Q7 set, so rangers had a hard time crafting it?

 

In older versions rangers had insane bows, they also had 2h damage on a 1h bow thus the term hoax bow.
However I can confirm that there is a terrible drop rate for 2h weapons for rangers.
Soul my guildmate has never really dropped a lot of weapons he is a ranger ofc, he also has a mec war and mage.
He too can confirm that rangers have terrible drop rates

There was a bypass for this, I found that tegans sanctuary delivered a lot of bows for rangers.
That is where soul spent weeks farming before r214, post r214 the weapon drop rate has gone back to terrible on that map too

I have coined the term "hoaxbow" with a reason. I have also explained it in the past.
In short ... whether it is being called a 2H bow or Siege Bow ... in essence it is a hoax. Such weapon can't exist in real world nor in fantasy world.
That is why the term "hoaxbow" ... because it is a hoax.

I never knew you were the one that coined the term
the first time I read it was when I grouped with a player called Jumunngie on Agathon in July of 2016
He referred to it in that term and said that Ruby Rose used a hoax bow in pvp
Added he also claimed that she was able to do 1 mio crits * not sure how true that was for pre lvl55 (bear in mind I am only going on what I have been told)

 

Isn't it the other way around? A 1h bow cannot exist in real world, right? A bow is always handled with 2 hands...
(I understand that in DSO a 2h bow doesn't come with a quiver item, though the quiver is displayed on the character model.)

So anyway, I take it as confirmed that 2h bows drop badly. Which is sad.
Now why, though, should siege bows be the reason for that? Other classes have 2h weapons too :/

Just for the record, since Sands of Malice that introduced 2h bows, it still took me a whole year to change to a 2h bow, mostly due to absolutely abysmal dropped 2h bows' enchantments and crafting results I had.

 

Exactly.
That is the first point. Before the Qaizah expansion rangers were only having bows ... not 2H or 1H but just bows ... shortbow and longbow (both 2H acting as a 1H weapon).

That is related to cheating and probably using external apps in PvP which is not related to my Hoaxbows which are fake 2H weapons.
Mikey was referring to those hoaxbows ... the fake 2H ones.
Those were not available before the Qaizah expansion.

That is simply false.
Longbows never had damage like the other classes' 2H weapons.
they had same attack speed of 0.83 but a lot less base damage and damage from enchantments.




As for the drop of hoaxbows ... they drop quite often for me. That is why I have plenty of gold

 

Traki you forget on major point , that true weapons had lets say -100 base dmg ( this was on lv 50 so idk what would it look on lv 55 ) but rangers could use offhand item while others just had + 200 dmg . So ye you got 20% crit or block while other classes have only this +200 base dmg, and yes it was unqiue but it was in time when you couldnt get crit dmg on rings so aka you didnt have broken 2h sets with max crit and crit dmg, so basically rangers were loosing -200 base dmg but they were gaining crit and crit dmg making them actually better than the +100 dmg mage and tank ( dwarfs were still broken back then so i wont count them in the equasion).Also we didnt have inc dmg as an enchant in the helmet

 

why are siege bows fake? I see them all the time

I have for a long time desired for 2h weapons to have 1h versions an same with 1h having 2 versions
example the arachna set ( a 2h weapon would be super )
2 more examples 1h versions of the bearach and herald weapons
and a 1h version of the prem shop weapon

 

"not 2H or 1H but just bows" yes this is true, but the term 2h is informal and only a comparative means for the 2h of mages, warriors and dwarfs. Siegbows or 2h's rangers are the same things... And the central theme of the discussion is about the lower drop rate when compared to the 2h weapons of the other classes.

 

So I did 16 runs on Infernal 3:

4x Gorga ....... 1 leg + 1 exo
4x Khalys ...... 0
4x Asar ......... 1x exo
4x Nefertari ... 4x exo



Without Nefertari it would have been 12 runs yielding 2 exos and 1 legendary...

Is this a good or a bad drop?
