    Parallel World

Players can choose to enter the Parallel World series that functions independently from the main quest line. Enemies are set at a much higher difficulty than normal mobs and are designed to be completed as a group (3-5 players). Monster level scales to the highest level player in the group and health of individual creatures will increase with additional players. All Monsters in the dungeons equally provide XP and loot for every player in a group without the normal reduction for groups (but decreases for Level-difference between group members still occur). Ammon the Worldly Wanderer offers quests that guide you through the Parallel Worlds.

    Entering Parallel Worlds:
Access all parallel world dungeons through The Splintered City of Cardhun. This location serves as a collection point for heroes seeking to put together a party for parallel world quests. Enter through the Parallel World portal and select your desired location free of cost. Prior to entering the parallel world dungeon, you will be queried about the desired difficulty level. At present there is only one difficulty level.

What are the requirements to enter the Parallel Worlds?
There are three possible scenarios for how to enter Cardhun and the lowest level difficulty of Parallel World dungeons (Painful):
    • You must first reach level 50 OR
    • You must have a level 50 toon that can already access Cardhun, and your other toons are at least level 10 OR
    • You must have access to Parallel Worlds prior to Release 158.
For the higher level difficulties (Excruciating & Fatal):
    • You must reach level 50 on the toon.

To access the hardest difficulty (Infernal):
    • You must reach level 55 on the toon.
What can I expect in a Parallel dungeon?
Bosses, mini-bosses and many of the same monsters from the normal dungeons, except you will find them much more powerful than before. Monsters from the "Champion" category will have anywhere from two to four enchantments.

Find large stacks of Andermant, gold, and enchanted items in all these locations! Gather a group of fellow players in-arms to defeat the baddest of enemies in Duria.

Collect Materi Fragments dropped from normal mobs, mini-bosses and the head boss to purchase goodies from various NPCs in Cardhun.
How does the automatic quest system work in the Parallel Worlds?

There are quests you have to manually complete from Ammon and the various NPCs in Cardhun. But once you have completed the first quest for a Parallel World, you will receive an automatic quest upon entering the Parallel World.

    new quest receieved.png
You'll get a message telling you that you received a quest.

You can see this quest in your Quest log (default hotkey: Q). You can activate Quest Guidance as usual.
    quest.png
This quest will be needed to progress through all 3 maps of the Parallel World and access the Parallel World Treasure Chest at the end. In Fatal difficulty, this quest will also unlock the in-dungeon Trader.

If you exit the Parallel World prior to completing the quest, the quest will automatically cancel and the items you obtained disappear.
    What is Q1, Q2...?
This designation is a short-hand many use when referring to the Quest or Dungeon number of the Parallel World. You may find people using this phrase when searching for a group interested in completing the specified Parallel World.

Once your character has reached the Splintered City of Cardhun, NPC Ammon will provide you with a series of quests.

Play through the quests series to unlock the dungeons. The dungeons will be unlocked in the following course (top to bottom). You will first have to clear two maps and in the third map you will encounter a boss monster. For example, you will have to clear Parallel World Grimmagstone, the quest will then lead you to Parallel World Alliance Fortress and then you can enter Parallel World Fortress Hall where you will encounter the boss monster, in this case Grimmag.

    What is M1 & M2?
Each Parallel World comes in a series of 3 maps. "M1" refers to "Map 1" or the first map in the series. "M2" would refer to "Map 2" or the second map in the series.

So for example, if a player is asking to farm q3m1, they are referring to the map "Parallel World Stonekeep."

How does the reward level scaling work?
Quest rewards will scale to your level at the time of completion.

How come my Ammon's reward does not match the imaged stated as the quest reward?

All enchantment values will fall into the listed range of possible outcomes.

Will Ammon's items continue to scale as I level up?

No, level requirements and item levels will remain static, but can be upgraded with Glyphs of Power.

    Materi Fragments

    What are Materi Fragments?

Materi Fragments, also called "Materi Frags" or simply "Frags" are the currency of the Parallel Worlds.

How do I obtain Materi Fragments?
    • Materi Fragments can be obtained as drops from monsters and bosses alike.
    • A small quantity is also awarded upon completion of the quest that takes you through the 3 maps of a Parallel World. (If you complete the quest, don't forget to open the box that appears on the final boss map after slaying the boss!)
    • Materi Fragments will also drop from Materi Portals.
What can I buy with Materi Fragments?
In the center of Cardhun, you can find the NPC Salvender. He sells several items:
    • Ammon's set
    Screenshot_1.jpg
Salvender can be found just off the centre of Cardhun.
In addition, there are other NPCs standing near the doorway to each Parallel World. They offer:
    • Fragment glasses (continue reading for details) for Andermant
    • Portals directly to the final boss room of a Parallel World, available for both Andermant and Materi Fragments
    • Travel Ration to Parallel World bosses

    Father Rufus.png
Father Rufus is an example of one such NPC, found outside Grimmagstone.

Upon completion of a Parallel World through all 3 of its maps on any mode, a NPC trader will appear in the boss room. The NPC only appears if you complete the quest. This NPC will offer:

    • That particular boss's special uniques
    • An appropriate ring
    • An appropriate piece of the untouchable set
Please note: Prices and tier of equipment will scale to the difficulty you complete the map in.

    box and trader.png
Example of an in-dungeon trader that appears after completing the Parallel World's quest.
How do the Fragment Glasses work?
To use, purchase and activate the Glasses from the Traders stationed outside each Parallel World. Glasses do not increase the probability of drop rate, but instead doubles the number of fragments received from each drop.

    Difficulty Selection

What is the difference between the different difficulty levels?
Each Parallel World is available in 6 different difficulties: Painful, Excruciating, Fatal and Infernal (I, II, III and IV). A brief description of each can be found below. All are measured relative to an equivalent non-PW mob. In general, the difficulty scales up the base stats of the monsters, increases the number of abilities they possess, with a concurrent increase in quality and quantity of loot.

    * Note: Loot quality refers specifically to the base values of the equipment. It does not refer to the enchantments, unique value, or set bonuses.
