    Changes to the SM is a step in the right direction.
    But, as most players would agree, they are still a bit overpowered even after these changes.

    not happy with those changes as a ranger playing more then 4 years....developers need to fix the armor value of reduced phisical damage on rangers because its not working ..4k armor value is like 6k value and like 8k (using QUIVER) value it has no difference in damage we suffer phisicaly and i tested in the arena with my dk friend (TESTED NO ARMOR BREAK) and with my brother at home using his ranger aswell
    it happen since r155 armor has no effect in protecting us rangers phisicaly when using quiver even not less damage
    i feel like to ask for refund(not possible) of my real world money of buying those gems when IT WAS protecting me but not after r155

    Once again I find myself in the position of the whiner; the changes of r169 simply dont work!
    This is where I usually complain about BP in general and especially BP-devs not giving this once great game what it needs...
    But... lets try a new angle for once; instead of being a complainer/whiner/trasher let me this time try and pinpoint the problems and give some suggestions on how to fix the current problems in DSO... -maybe this will cause BP to listen more carefully this time and actually consider implementing usefull changes... :) who knows ;)

    Ok here goes:
    First off, let me complement DSO for actually reacting on our complaints within a reasonable timeframe and trying to take measures towards a solution...

    Problem: Dwarves are too strong both in PvP and PvE! The changes of r169 are so minor, that dwarves hardly will be affected by them! Increasing essencecost on towers and tweaking the steamconsuption is simply not going to cut it! Dwarves are using so little essence ATM that they actually have to trow away up to 80% of their gathered green essence!!! Another severe problem is that Dwarves have no need for crit! -Since towers dont crit and they are the main means of damage for the Dwarf, Dwarves dont need items with critlines in them! As dmg is the ONLY thing any dwarf with selfrespect use ATM, its very easy to craft powerfull items with a minimum of effort! (the droprate of golden dmglines are VERY common compared to golden critlines)
    Solution: We need dwarves to have a more steady use of essence! Allmost no essence-use plus 60% still equals allmost no essence-use!
    -So this is the answer IMHO: First, lets make dwarves shoot instead of just using towers! And seccondly: Lets make those shots actually count for something!
    • Dwarves regular shot is the same range as mages and Rangers!
    • Mashinegunturrets and Teslaturrets damage is reduced to 25% of their current damage!
    • Mashinegunturrets and Teslaturrets can now crit!
    • The Teslabug that causes Teslasturrets from different Dwarves in the same group not to affect mobs is removed!

    -if U think about it, its actually not that big a nerf, and it makes Dwarves way more balanced compared to mages and Rangers, now that they have to work on crit like the rest of the classes! -now lets move on to Rangers:

    Problem: Rangers are still too weak in PvE even with the changes of r169, and they are not welcome in most groups, simply because they are too weak ATM! -But they are OK in PvP, so lets make a change here, that will target mostly PvE without hurting the PvPbalance!
    Solution: Rangers get a new passive skill: Forest-meditation! Each second the Ranger does not move, he is able to hear the whisper of the forest more and more clearly, and thus gets a stackable buff of +5% basedmg! -Maximum of 5 secconds (+25% basedamage), the seccond the Ranger moves from his spot, his buff is lost, and he has to stand still again to restack it! Does not apply to PvP!

    Problem: Good DragonKnights (DKs) have no need for big groups, they are actually better of doing most bosses solo! (So is dwarves ATM, but we allready nerfed them;)) Thus there are no need for them to play in groups!
    Solution: Lets not force DKs to work in groups, but instead make it worth their wild:
    • ALL monsters in Dracania gets +20% HP!
    • First groupbuff is introduced to DSO: Strength Through Diversity: Seeing other races fight for Dracanias freedom is inspirering for Ur character; result: For each class a player in a group is playing with and are on the same map with, +10% to basedamage! (maximum of 3 other classes = max +30% basedamage)
    • Rangers doubledamage on the annoying wallbug is removed! (finally)
    -This will bait players in this Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO)-game that DSO should be, to actually consider playing MMO and not just solo! And it will cause people to invite other classes without having to weed out the "weaker" classes!

    Thanks to all, who took the time to read all this! :) I do hope, that this will make the game a better experience for all players! ;)

    Changes concerning rangers that will be applied are really really funny. Someone thought that wolves are the reason why rangers are just weak. Fire this man, because she/he simply doesn't understand the game. Wolves were never the reason and probably will never be, they're just fine they way they are.
    You decided to change the damage caused by explosive arrow. Good, but it's not the most common skill used on PvE too. It takes too much concentration even using longbow.

    I still think BP just wanted to look like they care about rangers. The upcoming release just shows otherwhise. Just an illusion that they want balance in their game. Me and my rangers friends were really expecting this release. It's sad, but nevermind, you've got more important business than improving rangers' condition, eg. creating another epic mount.

    Err, acuatly i think craft a pure %inc dmg weapon is very hard, if you craft a weapon with another lines except %inc dmg or dmg then that weapon is done, reverse or melt ! And sm op in what pvp mode, capture the flag?....
    I think ranger is balance, they are strong in pvp and normal in pve.

    For BP, balancing means Nerfing and Nerfing only and no other. i started a sm and now it is nerfed, i got a ranger and it is nerfed, i made a dk and it is nerfed earlier. now when will u intro sw nerfing, tell me earlier so that we can quit spending so that money will be saved, who wants to spend on worthless things that is nerfed always to make it zero again.

    i agree with draco somewhat but as i only play dk after 155 i was a total rubbish dk when all was taken away now as we move into release 169 i have to say with my hard work and effort i am 100 percent better than i was pre 155 and im a f2p dk playing now 3 and a half years playing this game so i think what im trying to say if you can forget about whats gone in the past and just get on with your game anything is achiveable regards steve

    So once again bigpoint hides a lot of stuff in the announcements they post on the forum.
    It's isn't the first time that we see changes in the game, that didn't stand in the patchnotes
    It's so kind of you guys to remove the mini bosses at q3 m1 and not telling us a single thing about it.

    Best part of all is that i cant even complete the quest at q3 7/10
    So how am i supposed to get into M2

    Not only the 3 regular mini-bosses are gone, but the quantity of monsters in the map was severely reduced, I hope this is unintended...

    Too many changes, every once in a month you always have to update some new patches / things, game became slower and slower, losing "fun" factor on game playing, also need bigger and bigger space required for the game....many new update happened, yet it still confusing....i cant keep up with the game that has so many changes in fast period. For the events, why dont you guys have some callendar statement on when it will be happened again. Not many of us a full time player, some of us are in school, or works. So the exact schedule will be a great help for us to keep updating time management to play this game without affecting many other activities in our life. Please, make it simple, as it was before...this game is good, and still good now, you guys can fixed it...i hope

    I am stunned by the stupidity of release 169. Steam Mechanics are by far the worst PVP class in the game. Now you nerf us so that we are less powerful in PVE. Why not just disband the class? what are you guys thinking? This may be one of the most brain dead moves that I have seen. I can't believe that a whole release is pretty much devoted to nerfing Steam Mechanics and making ranger changes.
    If you really want to do something beneficial and constructive, how about making daily bonuses arising from premium accounts worth something? I have yet to get a box or bonus that I can use. I always melt them.

    Great release169.... less monsters, mini bosses gone, and now i see no pink portals after activating the altar with red circles in Q3m1.....

    Its because of the design decision to not have turrets deal critical damage. Once that decision was made, and especially once tesla became available, SM's became all about maximizing base damage, since crit and crit damage don't matter and tesla's create immunity. And that really simplifies gear and farming decisions. Get a damage/increased damage 2H, get warlord set, get lots of +damage gear, don't waste time doing anything else.

    I haven't downloaded R169 yet, but SM was the most powerful class in pve in R168 (and before), and probably the best in pvp as well (assuming above average 1H gun, shield and gems, which my SM doesn't have)

    Most of the changes will not drastically affect my SM pve play except that I might need to farm more green ess every now and then. As I can easily clear the first 2 maps of q3 at lv1 without any ess, the ess costs are no big deal, and i most likely will watch my ess consumption and replacement rates and make slight adjustments. In my opinion/feedback, the essence adjustments are overdue as turrets were too cheap.

    And if I can ever get my 4 golden increased weapon lines on one gun, ess issues will be moot.

    This is a bug. Hopefully a hotfix will be here by the weekend

    I don't understand why they did these "fixes" for these 2 classes. It was pointless. The ranger is beyond help at this time and needs a complete rehaul. It's very lost and forgotten class that no one wants in their teams these days. If the pvp'ers are crying Wolf, then only make the changes to pvp, not to pve. This is WHY we play on PVE servers and NOT the PVP server which is clearly available to those who enjoy PVP.

    I still think you should have a survey or a poll of asking your premium players of what they want done since we are paying you to make this game fun and enjoyable, instead of tearing it down to the ground. HOW many more people do you need to lose before you get it right? When there is no one to play it or not enough money coming in to continue paying you to do this job? And actually really, REALLY read them. I do the surveys' from support and they're still lacking of what I complain about which is the same complaint each time. That is becoming pointless to do these days as well.

    I'm still waiting for a bug that has been known for a long time. The locker tabs changing around. I spend at least a half hour each day I'm gaming looking for the right tab to put my items away in an organized manner. You were really quick to fix the deluxe premiums locker issue.. so why is the regular premiums still suffering this bug?

    P. S. And now that I have completed the patch, I'm getting the brown screen of death again. Was this patch even tested before throwing it live? So, we're back to square one plus nerfs.. awesome job!!!! Bravo.... (I would send a ticket to support, but they would tell me to come here and post it on the forums instead of expediting the ticket to the proper folks. Lost trust in the "support system" cause they don't support anything but to auto complete broken quests.

    How? HOW does this get past QA? One run in any Parallel World would tell you something is awry. The incompetence never ceases to amaze me.

    The adjusted Explosive Arrow is somewhat nice when there is a group to attack, but these balance changes are feeble at best. 0 balance on essence use for our greedy bows.

    :( Stop nerfing Rangers.

    If you've paid any attention to any of the feedback, you'd notice how it is constantly brought up that rangers are the least popular and the last choice when it comes to farming. At this point on, mostly everyone dies in 1 hit except for OP dks and dwarfs. Pvp is easily unbalanced when you get either this 2 classes on your team. The changes... are nice but it doesn't make any difference whatsoever pvp or pve. Other groups would still prefer to have a SW, DK or Dwarf on their team. Take notice of other classes as well, they also need some serious nerfing. Not going to go on details cause its going to be repetitive but pay heed to those who actually gave suggestion on how to balance out the pvp system. Well on a lighter note, the AI mobs has gotten alot smarter in their aim.

    Before R155,mage is one of the weakest in pve due to the stupid lightening strike,but now it is one of the strongest.What happen?It is not just the high dmg of the frozen sphere,but mainly because of the REGEN talent of FS, IMO.

    So,i think working on pure PVE concentration regen skill/talent for ranger is the right way to go.

    I have some:
    1.regen 20 concentration every mob kill with precision shot
    2.boss can be armor break by explosive shot
    3.remove slow effect of thicket of thorn,but mark hit enemy immediately
    4.enemy around the tree within 300 distant will be marked,but only last 0.5sec once get out of the radius.
    5.instead regen full concentration by killing mob with deadly blow,now regen 5 every sucessful hit

    Just a thought
