Hard to test with 20 Gold, sry.

This is why it always pays to be active on the test server. Those that were received tons of items, gold, and even a nice amount of andermant to test with.

And not necessarily active as in playing on the live server. My main toon there is a DK that was given to me way back when to test the 6v6 pvp when it was introduced. I have done very little with him since. Just a few sessions per month is all that is needed to stay in the running for the freebies.

Btw, I posted this feedback for the TS craft-fest in another crafting 2.0 thread (there are so many, lol.)
    Luck be with ye,

I like Crafting 2.0 very much.
I have spent excessive time testing it ... from what I have seen Crafting 2.0 is the real deal.

Crafting legendary items is pricey ... up to 200 gold would be acceptable ... keeping in mind that it would still be high price but fair.

I like the possibility to control the number of gem slots.

There should be a "lock button" or something (maybe confirmation) ... you can easily press "accept" by accident and destroy the ingredient items. I already destroyed two items with 79,7% and 78,2% weapon damage by accident

There is a bug when crafting items while your character has no equipped item ... i.e. if my weapon slot is empty and I am crafting weapon after accepting the crafted item it auto equips ... and message "you can't use that item on the workbench because it is already equipped" (or something like that) appears.

    Hello there!
In my opinion the crafting system should be way cheaper. So I've recieved 35K gold? probably and started crafting some items. I was aiming for a single stat on that item and didn't care about the rest as long as my stat was inherited from 3/4 of the items. Gold left on my toon at level 23 after all but one of the new item were equiped: 11K. So that brings us to the expensive part. If I can "burn" 24K gold in less than 1 hour at level 23 do I even wanna know the costs for crafting at level 50? Yes, I know it's a test server but back on the normal server I have a level 50 toon and I bareley got my hands on 900 gold as a casual player (2-3 hrs a day 2-3 days a week). Please decrease the gold prices or increase the gold drops.
Regarding the idea of a "lock button" I think this could facilitate getting better items even if this lock should cost andermant or gold.

    All the best

The crafting system is extremely nice and I can say will make new comers and veterans alike have hours of fun. This gives new life back to farming.

One suggestion though. Could the crafting table take on a property that from locker. If we put the 4 items on the bench hit the combination and we get disconnected. Could we still have all 5 items on the work bench. Until we hit accept or revert could the system hold all items there?

I was always thinking anything, what was given there as resource, was given as a testing material, not as a reward, but may be it's just me thinking that way. Anyway, I don't really care. 99% of these resources were used there for gambling, so it's just the next failiure of the testing team.

It's sort of sad that they had to take every thing back. This is one of the few times that they have done a roll back on the test server in the last couple of years. I had really been hoping that they were going to leave it. I can understand from a technical point of view why they did it; so that they wouldn't have to worry about bits of future code infecting an earlier version and causing crashes, but even still, I'm not too thrilled about having to go through all that time to create the items that I did on the test server.

I would like to thank you for the many info you have provided here along the forum. They are really useful to get an idea of what we should expect from the new crafting system.

I also see that you've had a positive opinion about it. But somewhere else you said that you've spent about 150.000 gold while playing on it. In the live server, it is something well beyond the human possibility (even if I know some mad people here, and I think they might just get close to a such target...).

My question is: if you try to relate your experience with the crafting 2.0 to those who are the real possibilities of a "normal" player, who comes on the workbench with 3-4 thousands of gold to spend, you would still have the same positive opinion?

I know that I'm not him, but I would still be positive about it. From my work here, I'm thinking it will be about 10k-12k gold (not accounting for good luck or bad luck) to make a 4/4 legendaary, but as little as 3k to make a 3/4 legendary that would blow away almost anything that anyone has these days. In my opinion, this is a good thing, otherwise, people would be running around with godlike toons in less than a month. It will take time, but crafting 2.0 will be better for everyone. The important part is that people aproach this smartly. If they just start throwing stuff on the bench and crafting without a plan or with unreasonable expectations, then they will be frustrated and disappointed and have a negative view of this awesome new system.

Smartly? I don't think that describes most of us :p

For those of us with characters with the lower to middle of the road builds, this is a game changer.

As long as we pay attention to the lines, (get as close to gold as we can), significant gains can be had quickly and somewhat cheaply.

    * As long as what we saw on the TS makes its way to the live servers.

Yeah maybe you're not :p:D but your reply is absolutely welcome. I've read with great interest your thread, and I have to congratulate for the detailed and careful analysis.

Moreover, in addition to the best way to proceed in order to minimize the waste of gold, you have now explained the approximate cost to achieve the goal of 3/4 and 4/4. Good to know ... so everyone could make their own considerations on the fairness of the price.

So I thank you ... and I come back to read again your thread (cause something is still not so clear )

Let me answer your question ...
As a normal player (which I am) I would have two opinions ... one positive and one negative.
    Positive:
I would still be positive about crafting 2.0 ... because it has great potential and gives lot of opportunities. Some things can be polished (like adding safety feature before accepting the item) and of course the price can be lowered for a bit. 200 gold instead of 222 is still high price but fair to me (talking about leg crafting) ... the other prices are OK.
    Negative:
The only negative thing in this whole story is ... my current gold stash which is something like "almost" 8K gold :p

Well if this is true (not that I am doubting you) Craft early and craft often because you know BP will not let it stand ... in the last year or so, they have nerfed EVERYTHING that had any kind of benefit to the players. This will get nerfed and getting the outcome you want will be as elusive as lvl 1 pw unique drops ( finished all pw, over 100 end boss kills .... 1 pw unique drop ) So very WRONG!

I never doubted. I knew to be only a matter of time. :D:D

I was even more optimistic, and I have accumulated less gold than you. Even because, for us who do not live in the game, the time for playing is what it is. But at least I have understood, thanks to your detailed comments and explanations, that crafting 2.0 could be a possibly useful thing (with time, perseverance and luck). The only right strategy is to fix one only goal at a time, and stay focused on it, limiting ourselves to keep for a future use the other items with extraordinarily high bonuses that were to be found in the meantime.

I totally agree, and I am so angry about their cinical behaviour. But there is nothing we could do to change things that seem to be too unfair (even stop paying and/or playing won't have a practical impact, as long as it is done on individual basis): if we still have some fun playing Drakensang, we just have to try to quickly accumulate 12k golds and 4 identical legendary items with the "best" bonus in function of our needs (10 days of time before r166, and maybe a few days later, before the "nerfing" eheh). Otherwise, it will mean that I'm going to throw the thousands gold on jesters, maybe I get in exchange some soul stone and a handful of blue ess :(;)

The thing is ... even if the price is 500 or 1000 gold ... there will always be players who heavily pay.
1000 gold means nothing to them ... in fact they will use andermant instead of gold.
The target are the average players. If you let average players get equipment fast ... then you are in trouble.

If someone could figure out a way to balance everything between the causal free player and the ultra heavy payers, while keeping everyone happy, they are smarter than I am.

I use to spend some money in the game before the great nerfing, so I don't really care if someone wants to drop a butt load of money into the game. I can also understand why that upsets the pvp players.

Currently (until DSO decides to) we can't stop the advantage of the heavy payers, but in order to give those of us that aren't heavy payers a chance, a lower crafting price would be nice. I would love to see 175 leg to leg, but even 200 would be nice.

I truly believe that those of us with middle of the road and lower characters are going to benefit very fast from 2.0 since we don't need 3 or 4 uber lines on each item to improve.

Yes that was I talking about ... prices are irrelevant to them ... they are only important to us.
