A German friend told me about a word that does not have a direct English translation, but sums this up perfectly:
schadenfreude: pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune

I am mostly satisfied with the outcome and all bug users will think twice about exploiting in the future.

so i make 3 radiant gem from this bug on one character and you take all my gem on all 4 character (spend around 1000 euro for it) and its fair for you ? or you all nuts in this company ?
I think that this bug was intentionally inserted from you.
Russian players they knew from the first day for him,so i think they pay very much money to get this information, i dont think you have baned this group of people

    The second thing....
How many players in that time bought Andermants to buy 150 pinata trenchmant to use on zumppe and bug, you knew about the bug from the beginning and you need 15 days to fix the bug !?!?

and at the end of this...you take all the gems we have bought for real money, and farm over years, now so many thousands off player must spend more money to return to what they already had

I think you have earned a lot of money on this bug , and the judiciary should take out an investigation in this case

we should create a group that will sue your company,This is pure robbery and you can not do whatever you want
    I'll see you in court

Would you rather they just perma ban the account? They would have been well within their rights to do that given that you violated the ToS.

perma ban for 3-4 radiant gems ? how much others bug was on game without consequences ?
its first time i tried some bug and i get tempo. ban, why they dont rollback only bug abbuser ?

because they think we will spend much more money to take back our purchased and farmed gems

this bug was intentionally inserted only for taking money from player

Yes, because BigPoint made you use the bug. This was not an easy to use or easy to discover bug that couldn't be avoided in normal game play. You went out of your way to use it and you knew that it was wrong. Did you even think before using the bug "Maybe I shouldn't do this. I know it's cheating." I'm was of the opinion that all of the bug users should have gotten a permanent ban, but I like this even more. Instead, they are saying "You can still play, but don't ever think about cheating again."

P.S. 3-4 radiant gems is about $30. You, and many others, stole $30 or more from a major gaming company, and you expect them to take that lightly? If you did that in to a real store and got caught you'd get arrested, and you might spend some time in jail for a shoplifting charge and pay a fine that is worth significantly more than $30. Would you then try to blame the store for not having better anti-theft measures to prevent you from stealing? The biggest reason people don't steal from real stores is because they are afraid of the consequences, and now after this, everyone will think twice before stealing from BigPoint because they know what the consequences are.

Did they even allow the permanently banned moderator to stay?

when you kill a man ,Court first check out if you're already done some offense before that, then punish them
perma ban is like you send him to electrical chair without trial for offense
for first time using bug and for 3-4 radiant gems , i think to take over all gems is too much

and please do not say you were not abuse heredur bug and stuff like that , so further discussion with you is incompetent

    Nobody got killed. Terrible analogy.

Perma-ban is what ToS calls for; getting a gem removal is a reasonable lesser punishment.

Fwiw, removal of only the gems acquired from pinata abuse is not actually a punishment since you never fairly acquired them. There does need to be a punishment beyond just removal of the unfairly obtained gems in order to serve as punisment for offense and deterrence in the future.

and its ok for bigpoint to stole my 1000 euros gems i have bougth for real money ?

Yes, because it is a fair punishment, and not stealing, by Bigpoint.

  14. 1) To the best of my knowledge, the exploit was not reported to Big Point prior to the event going live. The event was (briefly) delayed in order to remove a different known issue. It was not until a couple of days after the event was up and running that reports started rolling in. Including a video of someone detailing the exploit on the TS. As soon as we (the English Team) became aware of the massive potential of the exploit abuse, I (in my best Dirty Harry impersonation) posted an OA and BN/MotD warning players not to abuse the exploit or they may not like the consequences.
    2) DSO admin teams are not based on countries. They are based on language. The home countries of the English team members are about as diverse as it is possible to get. Not even a single EN team member was found to have been involved in this exploit abuse. And I have no knowledge of any admins from any other team being involved either. Not that it would be any of my/our business. If you have got any actual knowledge of multiple admins from a particular language team being busted for exploit abuse, go and chatter about it in that forum, and leave your speculating out of this one.
    3) Of course Big Point created the exploit. But unintentionally. Some players discovered it and shared it and then a bunch more chose to abuse it in violation of the BP DSO T&Cs of Use. And they got busted. Hard. Boo-hoo. Go cry a river.
    4) Should have learned your lesson from the perma-banned bot users....
    5) @Theusen Moderators/admins are treated no differently to any other player when it comes to punishments for breaching the BP DSO T&Cs of Use. In the first bot ban wave, two of the EN moderators were found to have used the bot. They were removed from the admin team and had their social a/cs perma-banned. You have repeatedly claimed to be an ex-admin, so you should know better.

that is not stealing if I ran out of gems ,bought for real money...but is stealing when i made 3-4 radiant gems ?

because bigpoint is too lazy to copy paste some file in my acc before this bug
i agree that we must get some penalty, but take over all gems was extreme

That's the fine you get for breaking the rules. I would ban/delete toons for everyone that used the exploit, not only the massive exploiters.

  17. LooneyTed

    Yes, it is.

You admit you stole the three radiant gems yet expect no punishment. I assume you are not a small child and live in the real world. Accept the punishment of losing ALL your gems for every character.

I'll wager you won't cheat again. At least not this game.

    Regards,

    LooneyTed

As a rebuttal, someone bringing such a claim would probably end up getting their lawyer/solicitor/barrister disbarred or sanctioned for bringing such a frivolous case. And would probably risk finding themselves on the hook for for bigpoint's legal fees as well, if I understand the UK's loser pays rules.

I wouldn't recommend it over a few hundred or thousand dollars or pounds of virtual objects.

I do believe putting money into anything virtual is really just putting money into something you do for entertainment. It isn't like you actually own any of the "items" you purchased. You did it so you could play the game as a tougher toon. You got your entertainment. Your money was spent on just what you wanted.
